Fit for life with walking footballpublished at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2017

Many of the walking footballers we've spoken to say the friendship and camaraderie from their sessions has made a huge difference to their lives.

Here's Bill Cameron from ALFA Lifeline walking football in Swinton, Greater Manchester (playing today for Fit City Kickers):

"Whilst playing and the physical exercise bring health benefits, the greatest advantage stems from the exhilarating feeling of happiness and well-being that follows a football session. I believe it's the well-being feeling that helps keep my blood pressure under control."

Good luck to Bill and all our walking footballers this afternoon! Keep sending your pics to getinspired@bbc.co.uk or tweet using #peoplescup and we'll share your stories...

  3. Walk this way - or that waypublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2017

Allow Wakefield Walking Football stalwarts Niall and Mike to take you through some of the walking techniques they'll be deploying to get an edge this afternoon in Leeds.

Thanks to BBC Radio Leeds for this insight, filmed just before the team did a half-time demonstration at Bradford City's Valley stadium in January.

    Keep those pistons pumping, Mike!

What a day of preparation Brett is having.

First he sent us pictures of his sausages at breakfast, now a hot tub!

I think he's trying to make us all jealous.
