    One would imagine it is going to take something extraordinary for Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy not to be lifting his first Claret Jug come the end of play today, but that is why we love sport - the extraordinary can happen.

    McIlroy leads by six at Hoylake and tees off at 14:40 BST with closest rival Rickie Fowler.
