  1. Pars for Spieth and Kucharpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 22 July 2017

    Spieth (-9), Kuchar (-7)

Kooch knocks in for a par three, exiting stage left for Spieth to steal the show. To the untrained eye, his birdie putt looks like it has a chance. To the world number three's sniper-like trained eye it is nowhere near. He marches after the ball as it drifts left.

    Spieth (-9), Kuchar (-7)

Jordan Spieth is making this golf lark look easy. Another knock from tee to green on the par three 12th leaves him within striking distance.

Matt Kuchar tries to follow suit but is a club short. A monster of a birdie putt tries its best to get to the hole, his caddy trying to direct the ball with his flag like traffic controller.

The sun is not shining on Ian Poulter right now as he goes bogey-bogey. The par-three 12th sees him scrambling and the six-foot putt he has left is too much.

Rory McIlroy hits the green nicely off the tee on 14. Both men are looking over their shoulder at what might have been right now. Some dude from Texas is just taking it away from everyone.

    Watson (-2 after 15)

Bubba Watson, you may have noticed, has lost a lot of weight. The before-after image on top shows it a little.

The two-time Masters winner has never really looked overweight but he says he's given up "everything that tastes good" in order to get in better shape.

"I’m eating small meals more times," he says. "I threw in fish for the first time, a lot of chicken. Normally I don’t like eating on the golf course, but we made these little protein balls.

"The stuff everybody loves? I just cut it out. So I’m basically just bitter at the world."

Bubba said the weight loss impacted upon his swing but from what we've seen this week, he's finding his groove again. So go get some chips to celebrate Bubba.

    B Watson (-3 after 15)

A lime green ball. Not seen one of them since 1994. Well, apart from yesterday when Bubba Watson played with one. There's more neon in Bubba's bag than a nu-rave club night. Two birdies in three holes lift the American up on the verge of the top 10.

  7. Par for Rorypublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 22 July 2017

    McIlroy (-1 after 13)

Rory McIlroy is again close with a birdie attempt but there's nothing at 13 for him. His start today was exhilarating but the tank is running dry. It feels like he's chugging his way around now...

  8. Pars for Spieth & Kucharpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 22 July 2017

    Spieth (-9 after 11), Kuchar (-7 after 11)

Matt Kuchar to putt for birdie, but there isn't enough on it and he rolls short.

Jordan Spieth now with the birdie attempt to extend his lead, it looks makeable but it bobbles a few inches past.

The leader rolls in for par, while Kuchar is also down in four.

    Poulter (-3 after 11)

Ian Poulter made to pay like he's at the supermarket checkout on 11. No clubcard points will bail you out of trouble when you find the thick stuff off the tee here. His 35ft putt for par is always unlikely to drop and that grind for the birdie on 10 now seems a tad wasted.

    Spieth (-9 after 10), Kuchar (-7 after 10)

Jordan Spieth on 11th and drops his drive into the fairway.

Matt Kuchar is next on the tee box and his drive lands just off the fairway, into the short cut rough.

    McIlroy (-1 after 12) Poulter (-4 after 10) Koepka (-5 after 10)

Rory McIlroy has around 30ft for birdie on 12, lovely stroke through the ball and that's close but not enough. This has not been his day. On 11 Ian Poulter has found rough off the tee, Brooks Koepka is in the fairway and slings a ball onto the green with backspin galore.

  15. Woodland's almost acepublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 22 July 2017

    Woodland (+1 after 12)

Gary Woodland almost gets the first ace of the tournament on the par three 183 yards 12th.

His shot pitches in front of the hole and looks set to drop in the cup but just passes by.

Unlucky for the American, but he takes the birdie all the same.

    Spieth (-9), Kuchar (-7)

Kuchar knocks up close, very close in fact, leaving him with a simple knock in. Two putts are needed by Spieth, leaving the Texan still two clear at the summit.

  17. Postpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 22 July 2017

    Spieth (-9), Kuchar (-7)

While Matt Kuchar goes off with his strimmer, Jordan Spieth's only concern is that he doesn't have a full view of the flag. The dogleg on the 10th is obstructing his sight.

That's not a major problem though, a bit too much spin on his approach is. He pitches just short of the flag, the ball's rewinding revolutions taking it just off the front.

Kuchar needs to tense every muscle in his forearms to hack this one out... excellent effort. He's just short of the green and in with a chance of saving par.

    Spieth (-9), Kuchar (-7)

Jordan Spieth shows Rory McIlroy exactly how to play the 10th.... by spanking his driver way over the bunkers lurking in the distance. Pretty easy really.

Matt Kuchar tries the same approach, but his ball is dragged off left again. Has someone got it on a lead?
