Tiger is winning the round but his charity is well behind Phil's.

Woods has won one challenge for $200k, while Phil won three for $600k. All money from these side bets go to their chosen charities remember.

    Woods 1 up (12)

Tiger's honour... and he ramps up the pressure with a $300,000 side bet for nearest the pin.

Woods lays down the gauntlet with a casual knock to about 12 feet. But Mickelson, being the gambler he is, tunes in and sticks his ball inside his great rival's.

"I can't see because of the sun," Mickelson says as he scampers down from the tee. He knows...

    "Who got it? Me? Nice."

    Woods 1 up (12)

That putt from Mickelson is nowhere near.

Tiger is in full, well, Tiger mode. Hitting the ball cleanly and clinically, striding off purposefully between green to tee.

Woods goes ahead for the first time with six to play. No time for awkward small talk between shots now...

    Mickelson v Woods A/S (11)

"That's a great shot Tiger. Well done. Thank you," Mickelson shouts over.

That's a concession after the 14-time major winner knocks his second shot on the par-four 12th within a couple of feet.

Mickelson needs to sink a 35-foot putt to avoid going behind for the first time tonight...

    Mickelson v Woods A/S (11)

American tour player Pat Perez is part of the television coverage and he's a man who knows how to entertain.

Just check out some of his shirts.

"I wanna hear some more smack, some more action, some more betting," he says.

"And some better shots. These are two icons of my generation. I demand better shots."

    Fair.

    Mickelson v Woods A/S (11)

"I can't keep letting him hang in like this. I need to pull away," huffs Mickelson.

With the way Mickelson has been driving you'd have expected to convert some of these opportunities, but his short game has let him down.

    Not a classic...

    Mickelson v Woods A/S (11)

Both players knock on, but to varying success. Tiger is told to pick up his ball for a birdie, meaning Leftie has to knock in from 10 feet for the half...

He goes for it... but pulls it right. All square with seven to go...

But the main reason Mickelson is unhappy with himself is he thinks he might just be about to lose $200,000. Leftie stuck another nearest-the-pin wager in front of Woods before the pair teed off.

All yours Tiger... he misses the green and the money stays put.

Come on lads, give us something to keep us interested. An ace on the 284-yard par four 11th would do it...

Mickelson has the honour and "smoked" his tee shot with a "bit of mustard". Is Phil hungry?

The lack of snacking from the pair is quite striking actually. I'd have gone through two chocolate bars and a cheese sandwich through 10. And maybe a piece of flapjack.

I digress. Phil hits the green but his ball bounds through the back.

"Yes, all day." Woods confidently knocks in his par putt. Over to you Phil... no problem.

Mickelson, who seems to have more vocal support among those lucky few watching, stays one ahead.

The five-time major winner is now 61% likely to win this contest, according to the in-play stats.

    Mickelson 1 up (9)

With Woods there for three, Mickelson has a birdie putt on the 438-yard par four to go two ahead. It's a long one though... Phil's muttering under his breath tells you it is not good.

Actually, that's not a good idea given Tiger's troubles over the years. Anyway... back to the golf.

Woods is on the bank to the left of the 10th green, chopping the ball onto the putting surface.

This match could do with some spicy sauce. Here's an idea: why doesn't each player do a shot of tequila with tabasco in-between shots...

    Mickelson 1 up (9)

Actually, I tell you a lie. The moment of the match has been Mickelson saying he wants some "side sauce" on his tee shot on the ninth.

    Me neither.

Charles Barkley has provided the moment of the match so far. Which tells you everything you need to know really...

  17. Ninth hole halvedpublished at 22:15 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2018

    Mickelson 1 up (9)

"Bite. Bite. Bite!" Tiger urges his 80-foot putt to hold up as it arcs round left to right and ends up a few feet past the hole.

Phil splashes out, almost canning it, leaving both men with short putts for the half.

Neither concedes the putt, doesn't matter, halved.

NBA legend Charles Barkley is part of the US commentary team - he's not impressed.

"These two are playing crappy golf," he says. "I could beat them both..."

    Big talk.

    Mickelson 1 up (8)

Woods, about 30 yards behind Mickelson, lands on the dancefloor but is not troubling the hole as he bounces to the back of the green.

Can Phil hit the jackpot? He's hit the bunker in front of the green. Not a million-dollar shot. Not a 100 bucks shot...

Smackdown! Mickelson has put $1,000,000 on the table for either man to hole out from the fairway for an eagle....
