    B Koepka -11, Harold Varner III -6 (2)

That's dreadful from Harold Varner III off the tee at the third. He's almost in the shrubbery, well left of the green.

Brooks Koepka pounces on that and lands his ball on the putting surface.

  6. Wallace recoverspublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    M Wallace -5 (4)

After a little trip into a bunker, Matt Wallace two-putts to make par on the fourth.

A new back tee makes this the longest of the par threes. The green is set at an angle and recovery shots require a great touch as the green falls off in all directions.

  8. Pars all roundpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    B Koepka -11, Harold Varner III -6 (2)

Things are just not dropping yet for Brooks Koepka. A birdie putt at three goes awry so there's no immediate bounce-back after the bogey at one.

Harold Varner III set up his par with a delightful chip from the fringes.

We're still within Greg Norman/Nick Faldo territory albeit that was the Masters!

    M Wallace -5 (3)

Matt Wallace chips out of a bunker with his third shot on the par-five fourth. It's landed nicely, he should be alright.

  10. Rory rolls in a monsterpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    R McIlory +1 (13)

Up ahead on the 13th, Rory McIlroy rolls in a 25-foot putt for birdie to give the Long Island locals some welcome cheer. He's one under for the day.

  11. Bogey for Matsuyamapublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Dustin Johnson -5, Hideki Matsuyama -4 (3)

The wind is whistling but Dustin Johnson is looking solid enough so far. That's three pars on the spin for the current world number one.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama sees his par putt slip by though, as he throws away the shot he gained at the last.

    J Janewattananond -4 (2)

It looks like Jazz Janewattananond is going to have trouble on the third, too.

He's gone straight in a bunker to the left of the green off the tee. Looks like a deep one too. That would take me all day to get out of.

  13. Postpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    J Janewattananond -4 (2)

Jazz Janewattananond, who is sporting neon orange for the final day, almost comes back from his bogey on the first with a birdie on the second.

But he misses the 8ft putt. Still smiling though.

  14. 'Great shot, Danny'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    D Willett -2 (7)

Up ahead with the Dannys and Sheffield's Danny Willett is trundling along very nicely. He's two under for his round after birdies on two, four and five with a bogey on the third spoiling the run.

But he's just his a fine approach to the seventh, which one local praised, for another birdie chance. It's a 25-foot putt, and ooh that is a great effort. Inches away.

That'll be a par, but he's playing like the former Masters champion that he is.

  15. Postpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    B Koepka -11, Harold Varner III -6 (1)

It took Brooks Koepka about 11 holes to lose the honour at the tee on Saturday.

  16. Bogey for Koepkapublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    B Koepka -11, Harold Varner III -6 (1)

That's a two-shot swing. Brooks Koepka fluffs his second in horrible fashion and can't roll in a mid-range par-saving putt.

Great start from Harold Varner III mind. Nailed his approach and sinks his putt into the middle of the cup.

Just the six shots between Matt Wallace and Brooks Koepka now...

The Englishman puts in a lovely drive off the tee at the par-five fourth.

  19. Birdie for Matsuyamapublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Dustin Johnson -5, Hideki Matsuyama -5 (2)

DJ has started par, par. Not exactly what he was looking for but solid enough.

His playing partner Hideki Matsuyama, sinks a mid range putt for birdie at two, he's definitely looking up the leaderboard.

Almost another birdie for Matt Wallace. But the 7ft putt goes a touch left. He takes a par.
