    Ciganda 1UP v Kang (8)

Shhhaaannnnkkkkkk. That's very sporting of Danielle Kang. With Carlota Ciganda in all sorts of bother the American has hooked badly left.

But she should be able to reach the par five in four.

    Ciganda 1UP v Kang (8)

Carlota Ciganda nailed a brilliant putt on the eighth to salvage her par and the hole.

But she's going to have to pull another rabbit out of her bag on the ninth. She's in the really think stuff up to her knees off the tee.

Her first effort to get out travels about ten yards. Ouch. This is a struggle.

Back on the first tee the smoke cannons and music is still going strong.

Europe's Bronte Law has just made her entrance for the penultimate match of the day against Ally McDonald.

European captain Catriona Matthew will need to channel her inner Alison Nicholas today.

Nicholas skippered Europe to victory in 2011, at Killeen Castle just north of Dublin - the last time the Solheim went into Sunday all square.

Europe, against all odds, took the singles 7-5 for a memorable win.

The current scoreboard suggests this could be a tight one.

It’s turning into a beautiful afternoon. The sun is doing an excellent job of avoiding the clouds and it really is superb golfing weather.

There’s a light breeze on the highest parts of the course but it’s nothing when.compared to yesterday.

    Boutier v Park 1UP (5)

Some better news over on the fifth green as Celine Boutier cuts her deficit in half against Annie Park.

The 25-year-old Frenchwoman has - along with Georgia Hall - been Europe's most prolific points scorer at the Solheim Cup this year, collecting three points so far.

    Ciganda 1UP V Kang (7)

Danielle Kang makes the first bogey in the opening match.

That's enough for Carlota Ciganda to put some blue on the board with a solid par.

Europe's top-ranked player has been the model of consistency so far.

    Hedwall 3UP v N Korda (7)

Now a show of power from Caroline Hedwall, who punches a shot out of the prairie-like grass over to the right of the seventh fairway.

She punches that on to the dance floor and that's enough to halve the hole. Nelly Korda has not got going yet.

    Munoz v Yin 2UP (3)

Another birdie for Angel Yin, this time at the third puts her well in control against Azahara Munoz.

The American should really have won all three holes.

  14. Hedwall extends leadpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 15 September 2019

    Hedwall 3UP v N Korda (6)

Caroline Hedwall's putter is running red hot.

This time she's negotiates a tricky right to left putt and Nelly Korda is reeling.

Not a good start for the Korda sisters today.....

    Masson 1UP v J Korda (1)

    Whatever you can do....

Buoyed by watching Anne Van Dam a few minutes ago, Caroline Masson follows suit and takes the first hole against Jessica Korda.

    Hall v Thompson 1UP (5)

Georgia Hall has some work to do on the fifth after just evading the hazard at the front of the green.

But a little bump and run and safe putt does the trick and she halves the hole.

    Ciganda A/S Kang (6)

Has Carlota Ciganda's putter gone a bit frosty?

After a fine fizzing tee shot the Spaniard can't knock in a five-footer and Danielle Kang has been let-off the hook.

    Van Dam 1UP v Salas (1)

    Anne van DamImage source, LET

That's a rarity. Europe winning the first hole but when you hit approach shots like Anne van Dam well what can I say....

Another booming drive leaves her with nothing more than a wedge, which she nails to withing a few feet of the pin.

That's too good for Lizette Salas who missed a mid range putt with her flat iron. Even if it had dropped it might have been academic!

    Hall v Thompson 1UP (4)

Lexi Thompson reaction of pain after hitting a driveImage source, Getty Images

I could have sworn that Lexi Thompson winced in pain after hitting her drive up the fifth, but reports from the United States camp are that her back is fine.

Perhaps she is just looking a little miffed about finding the semi thick stuff down the right, along with Georgia Hall.
