Oooooo. Close. Ireland's first shot on target comes in the final quarter through Nicola Daly. She doesn't quite catch it and is kicked away by the Dutch keeper.

Now this is a nice touch. With the game all but gone Graham Shaw throws on sub goalkeeper Grace O'Flanagan. She is a doctor and also a cancer survivor. She spent six months out of the side in 2015 and 2016 to recover from a rare form of the illness.
She played a crucial part in Ireland's qualification for this tournament.

Ireland have to continue to enjoy the experience here. They're playing for pride now and if they can get that goal it will mean the world to them.
Sweet Caroline is being belted out now in east London.
Netherlands 6-0 Ireland
Ireland are fizzing it around nicely now. Perhaps the Netherlands have taken their foot off the gas a little.
But there's the hooter to signal the end of the third quarter. The Netherlands have 15 minutes to wait until their coronation.

RealToSport: Despite the score Ireland's journey has given hockey a lot of exposure. Irish hockey needs the funding to build on this incredible adventure.
Netherlands 6-0 Ireland
Got to be... No!!
Ireland have six attacking players onto two Dutch defenders... It surely must be a goal. The crowd all takes a deep breath. They desperately want to see an Irish goal...
It't not to be. Sanne Koolen gets in with an excellent last ditch tackle to deny Deirdre Duke in the circle.

Credit to the Dutch for how they’ve gone about this game. With the disparity in the rankings they could’ve been complacent. Instead they’ve been professional and absolutely ruthless.
Netherlands 6-0 Ireland
Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Roisin Upton takes a serious blow on her right knee. She'll know about that when the adrenaline wears off.

David Smith: It’s only when you see such a demolition by the Dutch in a World Cup final that you realise just how remarkable the Team GB girls’ Olympic victory over them was. A world-class team.
Netherlands 6-0 Ireland
Here's a rare foray forward from the Irish. Nicola Daly is on the attack...
But she is crowded out by the Dutch defence. Three or four players in orange all suffocate her by closing in.

It's not that the Irish aren't playing well - it's that the Dutch aren't allowing them any opportunities.
Netherlands are in no mood to be generous today - they are ruthless - and it just shows the gulf in class between the sides.
Netherlands 6-0 Ireland
All of the Irish players are in their own defensive third. They're under so much pressure at the back. The Green Army just can't get out.

Now it's about damage limitation for Ireland...
Caia van Maasakker
Six of the best from the Netherlands. They're relentless. Another brilliant finish from the edge of the circle flies into the top corner. Ayeisha McFerran in the Ireland goal tries to get across but it goes in off the post.
Netherlands 5-0 Ireland
This is getting tough for Ireland now. They're now looking a little ragged at the back. The Netherlands players know what they're doing. A clever drag back hits an Irish foot and it's another penalty corner...
Marloes Keetels
No change at the start of the third...
Marloes Keetels adds a fifth, converting Maria Verschoor's cross. Keetels actually almost made a mess of it. She had an open goal and it wasn't the cleanest strike but dribbles over the line.
Netherlands 4-0 Ireland
Ireland head coach Graham Shaw at half time on BT Sport: "Just be proud and stand up and fight. We're disappointed with the goals but they're a serious team and they're coming at us from all angles. But we'll come out fighting in the second half - we weren't too bad on the ball - it's just been tough in defence.
"We'll do our best but it'll be a difficult second half, that's for sure."

Philip Addicott: Whatever the outcome, Ireland have been magnificent this World Cup, well done to them. They are playing against the best today.

We're off again.
