Also, in honour of Sprinter Sacre's win last year, what is your favourite word or way to describe such an utterly emphatic victory?

I'm a big fan of a "whupping", external and a "shellacking" - lovely sounds for landslide triumphs.

Two non-runners lessens the workload on 5 live commentator John Hunt a little bit. He will be calling the runners and riders with dead-eyed accuracy and a neat turn of phrase all afternoon.

The first four races are live on BBC Radio 5 live, before coverage switches across for the final three to BBC Radio 5 live sports extra. You can get them both online as well as the old-school wireless way.

"The mist which covered the scenic Cleeve Hill backdrop to Cheltenham racecourse gradually lifted through the late morning to leave warmer conditions on the second day of the Festival, which is marketed as Ladies' Day.

"Clerk of the course Simon Claisse says the forecast is for the dry weather to continue, with some sunny spells in the afternoon and temperatures reaching 13C or 14C.

"Wednesday's feature race is the Queen Mother Champion Chase, a two-mile speed test for steeplechasers over 13 fences.

"Sire De Grugy is favourite in the absence of last year's winner Sprinter Sacre, and will bid to join talented recent winners such as Moscow Flyer and Master Minded."

"It's been a chilly morning at Cheltenham Races but reckon in 15 minutes it could be glorious. Kid Cassidy for me. Good luck."

Two non-runners so far for you to take out of your calculations.

Royal Boy is lame and out of the 13:30 while an irregular blood analysis means Seven Nation Army misses the Champion Bumper at 17:15.

Seven Nation Army was named after a song by the White Stripes whose breakthrough album was White Blood Cells. The signs were always there.

Sire De Grugy, who won December's Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton when Sprinter Sacre's irregular heartbeat was discovered, is favourite to take advantage of the superstar's absence again.

But it is far from an open-and-shut case.

Sire De Grugy has been beaten on two previous visits to Cheltenham. His only defeat in five outings this season was to Kid Cassidy on the course and last term he was defeated by Captain Conan in the Cotswolds. Both line up against him in today's field.

Where last year's race was a jaw-dropping crowd-pleaser, this year's is more of an intriguing chin-stroker.

Nineteen lengths is approximately 152 feet. More than the length of three double-decker buses. More than the length of two cricket pitches. Further than David Beckham lobbed Neil Sullivan from in 1996.

By any sporting measure, it is a long way.

It was the mammoth winning margin that Sprinter Sacre won last year's Champion Chase by in a gob-smacking, head-shaking victory.

There will be no repeat this year. A heart problem has kept Sprinter Sacre out of action since December. But in his wake there are a host of contenders revving up to take his crown.
