"Cheltenham quiet by its standards after Irish favourite Annie Power undone by More Of That, while Big Buck's out of World Hurdle places."
BBC Radio 5 live
National Hunt jockey Andrew Thornton: "Annie Power stayed well enough but just got beaten by the better horse on the day. Annie was very tough, ran her race, but was just beaten on the day."
Did anybody ignore the Big Buck's-Annie Power hype and back More Of That? Over on BBC Radio 5 live, presenter John Inverdale has told listeners how a Dublin taxi driver tipped up the eventual winner to him last week.
BBC Radio 5 live
Jonjo O'Neill, More of That trainer: "It can't get much better than that, it's fantastic really. He jumped great, which was my biggest worry as he's quite the novice. I was very pleased with the way he travelled. I did have a doubt that Annie Power might get home, to be honest. We stayed, and I've been pleased with the performance of this horse at home. He doesn't show you a whole lot but this is great, brilliant."
1. More Of That (B J Geraghty) 15-2
2. Annie Power (R Walsh) 11-8 Fav
3. At Fishers Cross (A P McCoy) 9-1
4. Zarkandar
What a barnstorming finish to the World Hurdle. Barry Geraghty got his tactics right to lead More Of That to victory.
And More Of That storms through to win the World Hurdle. Annie Power is second.
More Of That digs deep and takes on Annie Power...
At Fishers Cross takes the lead as Big Buck's drops out of contention. Annie Power starts to charge through.
Big Buck's is coming round on the inside, is he being boxed off? Annie Power is beginning to make a move as Ruby Walsh takes her round the outside.
BBC Radio 5 live
Luke Harvey, racing commentator at Cheltenham: "Big Buck's is cantering along. It's interesting watching Annie Power - she's quite keen, she's never run over three miles and she just needs to hold her pace."
Big Buck's is fourth, with Annie Power positioning herself right behind in seventh. Still Reve De Sivola in the lead while Rule The World is travelling very well.
It's a nice, steady pace as Reve De Sivola continues to be the early pacemaker. Who's going to make the first move?
Reve De Sivola has taken the early lead, with Celestial Halo tucking in behind in second. Big Buck's is fourth. Annie Power is seventh after four jumps.
John Hunt
BBC Radio 5 live racing commentator at Cheltenham
"I do love all this talk of tactics. This is the biggest race of the week - no doubt about that."
The Ladbrokes World Hurdle is under way. Will it be Big Buck's or Annie Power? Or AN Other?
BBC Radio 5 live
Chat show host Jeremy Kyle at Cheltenham: "We are here supporting Big Buck's. It's the people's horse, a lot has been written and a lot said and I do hope he'll win. The roof will come off if he wins."
BBC Radio 5 live
Champion jockey AP McCoy: "Big Buck's is the ultimate star - he stays, he stays, then he says a little longer. There are no question marks about stamina, but Annie Power is unbeaten. But it's her first step up to three miles... I respect Annie, she is very good, but I'd be more inclined to keep my eye on Big Buck's."
If anyone knows of potential weak links in Big Buck's armour then it is Annie Power's jockey Ruby Walsh, who rode the Paul Nicholls' horse to his four World Hurdle triumphs.
He said of Annie Power: "She's a very good mare. She has lots of potential, she has pace and oodles of stamina and we haven't got to the bottom of her. Her form is solid, she's beaten Zarkandar twice in England this year and then won over two miles at Doncaster. Fingers crossed the real Annie Power will show up."
BBC Radio 5 live
Rich Ricci, owner of Annie Power, on BBC Radio 5 live: "It has been a fabulous week but this is the day, and this is what we're all really about. I can't do anything but to wish good luck to the jockey. There's an old Texas expression - 'all hat, no cattle'. We don't want to end up on the side of that hat!"
