The rain has stopped, but the damage has been done in terms of the going.

It will be a bit of a churn out there.

The field have trotted up to give their rides a little look at the first.

Goonyella and Katenko, who has moved from 150-1 to 40-1, are two who will enjoy this ground.

"A sound jumper who should relish the trip and ground conditions, he was an impressive winner at Doncaster last time out."

In the 169th running of the Grand National, Katie Walsh (Ballycasey) and sister-in-law Nina Carberry (Sir Des Champs) will be bidding to become the first female jockey to triumph.

Victory would mirror the plot of National Velvet, the film where Elizabeth Taylor played a young woman who won the big race

Katie, third on Seabass in 2012, told me earlier that she watched the film as a child and dreamed of riding in the race.

"I hope a woman wins some day, I think it will be fantastic for the sport. I hope it’s me or I’m around to see it. It’s just so hard. Everything needs to fall right on the day," she said.
