This two-mile, five-and-a-half furlong marathon was won in the end by Oriental Fox, ridden by Joe Fanning.

There was a big shape up in the placings in the final furlong, which you might anticipate in a race like that. Thomas Hobson and US Army Ranger rose into the top three, Qewy, who seemed well placed, dropped into fourth.

He won this race two years ago, and he has won it again, having dominated for most of the race.

This is a very impressive horse trained by Mark Johnson, both he and Fanning have ended on a very nice win this evening.

It just looked so easy.

The grand finale to every Royal Ascot is always the marathon Queen Alexandra Stakes.

It is as bizarre a close to the meeting as the three Group 1 races are brilliant to the opening.

This is the longest flat race run anywhere in Europe, at a stamina sapping two miles five furlongs, and has more in common with the Grand National than some of the sprints over five furlongs we see earlier in the week.

For that reason look to trainers who have made their mark in National Hunt circles in this race: Alan King; Willie Mullins; and Jonjo O’Neill all have runners in this.

And a good chance for Josephine Gordon to better her second place in the Wokingham Stakes with a win here on First Mohican.

She would lay to rest the 30 year record, which has seen no female rider having won a race at Royal Ascot since 1987.

She’s up against some stiff opponents though, most notably in the form of Thomas Hobson, Qewy and US Army Ranger.

To be a champion horse, you will have a meticulously managed diet.

By the sounds of it, that includes sports presenters.

Watch as My Dream Boat, a horse that won the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, tries to devour BBC Radio Berkshire's horse racing commentator Tim Dellor.

It was set to run in the Hardwicke Stakes today, but was announced as a non-runner.

That is as close as we've come to having a female winner at Royal Ascot for 30 years.

Josephine Gordon, aboard Steady Pace, managed second place in the Wokingham Stakes, losing by half a length. A female jockey hasn't won a race at Royal Ascot since Gay Kelleway in 1987.

Out Do won it on the line by half a length, with one of the big guns, Projection, not far behind.

Interestingly, that is the fifth 25-1 winner that we have had this week, so some really big price winners have been coming in this week.

The last of the cavalry charges, six furlongs and 27 runners, the Wokingham Stakes is a spectacle but blink and you will miss it.

Martin Harley won earlier in the week, and he’ll be hopeful of another success on Outback Traveller.

Both Kieran Shoemark riding Projection, and William Buick on Normandy Barriere will be looking to deny Harley.

It is never a good sign when trainers tinker with headgear which is why some punters may be scared away from Raucous, trained by William Haggas and ridden by Ryan Moore - otherwise his credentials are good.

There is over 300 years of history at Royal Ascot, and the view from the racecourse has changed as often as the fashion and the food.

Following a stewards inquiry, The Tin Man has been confirmed as the winner, with places remaining unaltered.

A stewards inquiry is underway following a coming together of horses towards the end of the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

For now, The Tin Man will be paraded as the winner as Ascot, but all three Jockey's will be taken to the stewards room.

The panel of stewards will be read the details of what is being looked into and the other Jockey's will be asked if they felt there was any interference.

Tom Queally will have to justify his actions, with cameras showing them all what happened, so not much to argue with.

Only after that we will know what happens to the result of the race - we imagine they won't keep the Queen waiting.

The stage is set for the 8th and final Group 1 race of the week, with the winner of The Diamond Jubilee Stakes scooping a huge £340,000, this can make or break a trainer’s season.

The vastly experienced Henry Candy has the highly rated Limato in fine form.

He has managed to book Ryan Moore for the ride, which is an indication of just how serious a contender Limato is.

Trained a couple of miles down the road on the edge of Lambourn at Charles Hills’ yard is Magical Memory, who also has a strong chance.

If the battle is not Wantage V Lambourn it might be France V USA.

Long On Value is trained by Joel Rosario over in The States and The Right Man is saddled by French trainer Francois Xavier Bentras.

It has been a good week for both French and American trainers at the Royal meeting, so this could be seen as a decider.

We've been out celeb spotting at the final day of Royal Ascot.

Among the crowds is actor Robert Bathurst, famous for his role in the ITV drama Cold Feet.

Idaho's win in the Hardwicke Stakes is hugely disappointing to so many of the punters, although Aidan O'Brien has a big smile on his face.

Coming into the home straight, you thought Dartmouth was pretty well positioned, and Idaho was a length back, but The Queen's horse just ran out of legs.

Idaho just had an extra gear, turned on the turbo, and that was that.

There's a very subdued atmosphere now, everybody had come with one thought in mind, to roar home a winner for the Queen again.

She is stuck on 23 wins in her Royal Ascot career. I wonder what she is thinking now at the end of a tough week?

There's no victory for Her Majesty the Queen, and no record 76th win for Sir Michael Stoute.

There was almost silence amongst the punters as the Aidan O'Brien trained horse charged through.
