There was a first Royal Ascot triumph for an offspring of the legendary racehorse Frankel as Atty Persse won the King George V Stakes .

It was a fifth win of the week for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin team who enjoyed a 1-2 in this race, with First Nation finishing second.
Frankel triumphed in all 14 of his races during a stellar career, including two victories at Royal Ascot.

Now that the Aidan O'Brien Royal Ascot 2017 bandwagon is rolling, there will be a groundswell of support around Order Of St George, to be ridden by Ryan Moore, in the Gold Cup (16:20 BST).
Like so many horses trained by O'Brien for the Coolmore operation, this is a son of super stallion Galileo and really impressed this day 12 months ago.
However, he also came to Ascot last autumn and finished fourth. All three horses in front of him that day are due here this afternoon as is the redoubtable stayer Big Orange, plus Torcedor who defeated Big Orange at home in Ireland in April.
