Ascot - Benbatl wins for Godolphinpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin team celebrated a fourth Royal Ascot win of the week as 9-2 chance Benbatl took the Hampton Court Stakes.

After his first victory at the Royal meeting, delighted jockey Oisin Murphy punched the air and said afterwards: "This means the world to me."

Godolphin had an opening day treble but it was a first win of the 2017 fixture for their trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

Runner-up Orderofthegarter and third-placed Mirage Dancer also ran well behind the victor, who was fifth earlier this month in the Derby at Epsom won by Wings of Eagles.

Frankel son runs at Ascotpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

Mirage Dancer, a son of Frankel, will bid to give the legendary racehorse his first Royal Ascot winner as a stallion in the Hampton Court Stakes (15:05 BST).

Andrea Atzeni takes the mount for Sir Michael Stoute, who needs one more winner to become the meeting's all-time leading trainer.

Frankel triumphed in all 14 of his races during a stellar career, including two at Royal Ascot. He won his final contest at the Berkshire course in October 2012 before being retired for a breeding career.

You can check out the racecard and latest results on the BBC Sport website with commentary on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra.

Moore and O'Brien land Ascot winpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

Winners for the prolific pair of trainer Aidan O'Brien and jockey Ryan Moore rarely go off at big prices but 14-1 chance Sioux Nation obliged for the duo in the opening Norfolk Stakes on day three of Royal Ascot.

Horses drawn high appeared to be favoured earlier in the week but Moore's mount powered clear from stall two in the five-furlong dash.

Sioux Nation dug deep as 13-2 favourite Santry - on the other side of the track - finished fast and held on by half a length.

  8. Best backed-horsespublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

Order, order...two Aidan O'Brien runners are very much the order of the day with punters - both Orderofthegarter and Order Of St George are being well backed. Here's some of the market movers on Ladies Day at Royal Ascot:

  9. The Queen has arrivedpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

The Duke of Edinburgh has skipped Ascot for a second day, following a brief stay in hospital, but the Queen has kept up her 100% attendance.

The carriages are making their way down the racecourse, carrying with them the answer to the biggest question of the day...

You are probably aware that the Queen is actually a competitor at Royal Ascot.

Her Majesty is not saddling the favourite at 2:30, but she does own plenty of horses that have a chance at the Royal Meeting.

Her best chance of a winner this year appears to be the well-fancied Dartmouth running in the Hardwicke Stakes on Saturday - but Maths Prize, trained by Roger Charlton, also has a shout in the Britannia Stakes today.

Andrew Balding has trained for the Queen, and says punters would relish another Royal victory, like Estimate's in the 2013 Gold Cup.

"I don't think I've ever heard a reception like it, anywhere in the world,",said Balding.

"She's a great horse racing enthusiast, everybody wants her to have a winner, and she's got a couple of chances".

  16. Gold Cup horses to take on 'stamina sapping' coursepublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

Mercifully it's cooler here - and it's not just the racegoers that will be grateful.

The Gold Cup horses have to take on a stamina sapping 2 miles 3 furlongs.

Aidan O'Brien is the main man when it comes to the Gold Cup. Order Of St George may well defend his crown, giving O'Brien an eighth win in 12 years.

The biggest threat to O'Brien probably comes from Big Orange.

The small Berkshire villages of East and West Ilsley send out three runners, the best of which could be Sweet Selection from Hughie Morrison's yard.

After her mad dash from Westminster yesterday the Queen can arrive in more sedate fashion at 14:00.

She won't want to miss her horse Maths Prize running in rhe Britannia at 17:00.

  20. Now, what should I be wearing?published at 11:33 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    Adam Whitty
    BBC South

On Ladies Day, fashion is all important.

I can hear you screaming at me: "What width can my shoulder straps be?"; "What length can my dress be?" and; "How high can my lovely fascinator be?"

Fashion expert Anoushka Williams explains what you can wear in the Royal Enclosure, which has a rather strict dress code.
