    A group of Miss Cheltenham contestants are among those who have been enjoying Ladies' Day at Cheltenham.

    Among them is student Tamsin Grainger, 19, pictured on the left here. She was born and bred in Cheltenham.

    "We all do charity work and they're an inspirational group of girls," she told me.

    "It's a bustling atmosphere with great company. The Festival is the soul of our town."

    Altior's victory has cost the bookies millions.

    The Nicky Henderson-trained favourite attracted a whopping 65% of all bets in the 24 hours before the race.

    With Samcro and Pointing Percy also backing up their status as favourites, bookies have had to pay out on a ruinous 18% of all bets today.

    Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek, external said: “Altior confirmed his place as the best horse in training with a characteristically commanding display in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

    “He is truly Cheltenham royalty now, with the Mullins duo unable to stop Henderson's star.”

    Trainer Nicky Henderson has been speaking to 5 live after Nico de Boinville took victory in the Queen Mother Champions Chase.

    "It's good to watch him do that, when he pulled him out he was electric, wasn't he? Behind that he's probably not doing a lot. Good pace. Lots of cover. Jumped great. A very cool ride. Great riding Nico.

    "To find those gears in that crowd you have to be pretty good. Great race, but we hated to see Douvan go."
