Easysland caught the eye at the Festival last year by beating Tiger Roll by 17 lengths to win the Cross Country Chase.

If the French contender turns up in the same form this time then it will be hard to see past him, despite being well beaten over this course and distance in November.

Tiger Roll can't be written off as he bids for a fifth Festival win while Some Neck and Defi Des Carres are also contenders.

"We haven’t seen the best of Tiger Roll this season, but at home he looks well and is as enthusiastic as ever," says trainer Denise Foster.

Chacun Pour Soi needed to bring his A game and I actually think he did - he just got out-battled. He's never been in a battle in Ireland.

What a mare she is - the ladies have come to the fore again.

She comes across on the boat and comes to Cheltenham and is four from four across the old course.

She's done it the hard way too - out of the gate, hard from the front. The challengers came and she had none of it. She's repelled on the inside and on the outside.

What a race, for a Championship race. There was no hard luck stories.

Put The Kettle On was absolutely extraordinary.

Winning jockey Aidan Coleman, speaking to ITV Racing: "It was testament to her ability. When you are riding a mare like this it is a great buzz. I don't want to take any plaudits, this mare is something else. I don't have to do a lot. She wants it that much. Pulling up I was really emotional. You can't not watch this race and the jumps she put it and not appreciate what they do for us."

It was a breathtaking race with so many there with a chance which suggests they didn't go very quick.

Aidan Coleman was there all the way with Put The Kettle On - it was a bold ride.

Chacun Pour Soi travelled a little bit too strongly throughout for me.

Chacun Pour Soi had moved into the lead after the last but a real push by Put The Kettle On secured a stunning win. Nube Negra also moved ahead of a wilting Chacun Pour Soi to finish second.

For me it is all about Chacun Pour Soi - even before Politologue withdrew.

We've seen impressive runners so far and I'm just looking forward to seeing him. We've been waiting to see him at the Festival - now is his time.

Bad news for the defending champion. Politologue is a late withdrawal because of what appears to be a burst blood vessel.
