I think Chacun Pour Soi's main danger will be his stablemate Cilaos Emery - he's a very good horse in his own right. He has been hampered by injuries but he was extremely good last time out.

  3. Chacun Pour Soi to make up for lost time?published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2021

    15:05: Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase 1m 7f 199y

Chacun Pour Soi was a late withdrawal from this race last year but looks certain to make up for that absence this year.

The nine-year-old arrives at Cheltenham having been in incredible form over two miles in Ireland this season.

The loss of Altior on Monday has likely made Chacun Pour Soi's path to victory even easier and rivals such as defending champion Politilogue and Put The Kettle On will need to be at the top of their game if they are to truly challenge.

Great scenes as Richie Condon's fellow jockeys form a guard of honour as he passes by on Heaven Help Us.

There may be no crowd at Cheltenham but that's a great touch to ensure a superb win gets a memorable reception.

  6. A very different St Patrick's Daypublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2021

St Patrick's Day often falls in the week of the Cheltenham Festival, where thousands of racegoers traditionally make the trip over the Irish Sea.

Today would normally have a carnival air, but it feels a world away from previous years. The grandstand bars are empty save for a few socially-distanced media desks.

One of my favourite Cheltenham memories was going to mass on 17 March with punting priest Father Sean Breen.

You can read about his sermon on the mounts here.

  7. A green sweep on St Patrick's Day?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2021

Three races. Three winners all trained in Ireland.

Could there be a green sweep on St Patrick's Day?

The Irish now lead Great Britain 8-2 in the Prestbury Cup.

Well done if you had the first three combined in a tricast - it paid a dividend of £9,119.49.

And well done to Paul Hennessy, a Greyhound Derby-winning trainer who only has two horses, one of which is now a Cheltenham Festival winner.

A hugely popular winner as all the jockeys come out of the weighing room to applaud Richie Condon and Heaven Help Us. Brilliant stuff.

  9. 'Speechless!'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2021

Winning jockey Richie Condon, speaking to ITV Racing: "I can't talk today, I am absolutely speechless. All I can say is Paul Hennessy is a genius. It was unbelievable with all the commotion at the start."

Trainer Paul Hennessy: "We took a chance, wasn't Richie brilliant? Heaven Help Us is amazing. I can't describe her. A great horse."

They never got anywhere near him, and sometimes a rider you've got to take advantage of a situation. He got a very easy lead and he has set his own fractions and put in some bold leaps and he left the rest playing catch up. A good ride has made all the difference.

A brilliant win for the 33-1 shot. Witness Protection provided a brief challenge but otherwise that was a controlled and dominant race by Heaven Help Us.
