  1. 'Constitution Hill looked like a dope at home'published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2022

Winning trainer Nicky Henderson on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra: "You wouldn't know what you're doing with him because he's got such a wonderful way of racing - he's just cruises in such a low gear. He is doing nothing but he just tracked the furious pace. It is all so easy for him and then you press a button. The thing you couldn't believe is that Jonbon, who is a very good horse, finished so far behind him.

"Constitution Hill looked like a dope at home at the start of the season, but Barry Geraghty sent me a picture of his three-year-old on him - he's always been relaxed.

"I always said I'd settle for one winner, but I won't be settling for one now!"

  2. Speed test for novice chaserspublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2022

Race preview: 14:10 Sporting Life Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase (1m 7f 199y)

The second race also looks a tough one for the punters. The Arkle is generally won by a short-priced favourite - with the likes of Altior, Footpad and Shishkin all obliging in the last five years - but this year looks more tricky.

It could be one for Britain though with Edwardstone - who has come on leaps and bounds over fences this year, winning his last four starts - expected to go off favourite for Alan King, with Tom Cannon on board.

His challengers are dominated by the Irish though with Gordon Elliott's Riviere D'Etel generally around the 4-1 mark, before three Willie Mullins horses in Blue Lord - who has also won his last three starts - Saint Sam and Haut En Couleurs.

Henry De Bromhead may also have a sneak with Coeur Sublime fancied to run a big race at double-figure odds.

Shallwehaveonemore is being attended to behind green screens after a fall at the final flight in the first race. Fingers crossed the horse is okay.

  4. 'It couldn't have gone any better'published at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2022

Winning jockey Nico de Boinville on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra: "It couldn't have gone any better if I'm honest. I wasn't worried about false start at all - it just told me there would be a lot of pace so to be on the button.

"He's a very straightforward horse. You just have to sit and point. The first two hurdles were probably the quickest he's ever gone. I probably got there a bit earlier that I wanted to but he was just carrying me there.

"It was dead to the world last year and it was a very strange feeling. It's fantastic to everyone back and to feel the crowd's emotion."

And that was magical from Constitution Hill. Victory by TWENTY TWO lengths from stablemate Jonbon and would you believe it, a one-two for Great Britain courtesy of Nicky Henderson

It is a good start for Britain, but don't just go gloating yet - we've got a long way to go!

It's disappointing that Dysart Dynamo came down, but it's hard to see how he would have kept up with the winner. He was awesome.

  8. 'I'm shaking like a leaf'published at 13:46 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2022

Winning owner Michael Buckley on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra: "That was pretty amazing, I have to say. He's a very, very good horse.

"To do it like that on this stage - it was a shame that Willie's horse [Dysart Dynamo] fell but he'd have needed to be good to beat us.

    "I'm shaking like a leaf."

Dom Breslin: Britain 1 - 0 Ireland. Very impressive from Constitution Hill. Was stalking Dysart Dynamo & Jonbon all the way and would have coasted in even without DD’s fall.
