  7. Round 1published at 23:15 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Mousasi v Edwards

Compared to the last fight, that first round was a much more measured affair which was developing into a bit of a chess match. Fabian Edwards looked slightly more assertive. Will he up the pace now?

  10. I see me leaving Paris with my hand raised - Edwardspublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Mousasi v Edwards

Fabian Edwards on tonight's opponent Gegard Mousasi: "His main strength is he makes it uncomfortable for people. He walks forward, he's in your face, he's constantly in that range where you can't switch off.

"He's an alright all-round fighter. He's flat-footed, comes forward and tries to put you into boxing range and mix it up, but I don't see him as the best technically.

"I either see me catching him clean and a TKO finish or I see me out-wrestling, out-striking, clinching when I want, and then leaving Paris with my hand raised."

  13. 'MMA changed mine and Leon's life'published at 23:05 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Fabian Edwards will be cornered by older brother and UFC welterweight champion, Leon, tonight.

The pair share a similar story, moving over to Birmingham from Jamaica as kids before tragically losing their father who was murdered in a shooting in London.

That led the brothers down a troubled path, with both getting involved with gang crime in Birmingham, before finding their way out through MMA.

    Mousasi v Edwards

    Johnny Eblen
    Bellator middleweight champion

“Mousasi’s a veteran of the sport. He knows how to fight. He’s had a lot of fights and he’s a skilled guy. I kind of just demolished him. I think people show a little bit too much respect and they go in gun shy. He needs to be a mixed martial artist tonight against Edwards, he can’t just be a kickboxer.”

Fabian Edwards last fought in October, beating Ireland's Charlie Ward by unanimous decision at Bellator 287 in Milan.

Edwards was the better striker and grappler throughout the fight, landing some clean shots and controlling a lot of the action on the ground.

Now then, it's time for the main event, and Fabian Edwards has compared Gegard Mousasi to former opponent Lyoto Machida, in terms of the pair's legacy in the sport.

Both Machida and Mousasi are former world champions who have fought the best across multiple promotions.

But with Machida at 44 and Mousasi aged 37, the pair are at the tail-end of their careers, and Edwards is predicting another victory for himself tonight.

Edwards knocked Brazilian Machida out in London last May and you can watch his reaction to the win below.

Primus beats Barnaoui by unanimous decision

Brent Primus: “I think he has gills in his neck or something. He is one tough son of a gun. Hats off to Mansour, you are so tough. Usually I would have submitted those guys, hats off to him.

“He pushed me. I did not stop the whole time. I’m nothing without my team. They push me so much. I would not be able to push through those last couple of rounds without them.”

That was far from the result the Paris fans wanted as Brent Primus edged out home favourite Mansour Barnaoui by decision.

The volume has been turned right down inside the Accor Arena.

Full credit to American Primus - he looked out on his feet in round three but found a second wind to out-grapple Barnaoui in the latter rounds.

Next up for Primus is current champion Usman Nurmagomedov in the Lightweight Grand Prix semi-finals.
