Former Ulster and Ireland rugby star Stephen Ferris has been talking to BBC Sport NI's Stephen Watson.
"The last few hours have been fantastic and I'm really looking forward to the next race," said Ferris.
Former Grand Prix star Jeremy McWilliams says his second North West 200 victory is "right up there" as a career highlight after he pipped Ryan Farquhar in the Supertwins race at the Triangle event.
McWilliams, 51, won by .4 seconds from 39-year-old Farquhar.
"I never thought on the wrong side of 50, I'd be sitting on the top step of the podium at the North West 200," said a delighted McWilliams.

Jeremy McWilliams won by 0.4 seconds and the Glengormley man set the fastest lap at 107.97mph.

"To win here is beyond a dream - it's an enormous sense of relief to get the win," said the 51-year-old KMR Kawasaki rider.
Alastair Seeley says he is "overwhelmed" after his Superbike victory moves him level with all-time record holder Robert Dunlop on 15 North West 200 wins.
"To be up there on 15 wins with Robert Dunlop is a dream come true and to even have matched Joey's 13 wins here was special," said Carrickfergus man Seeley, 35, after his Superbike victory.
Ryan Farquhar is first away in the Supertwins race with Jamie Hamilton next and Christian Elkin third.
James Hillier and Martin Jessop failed to start the race.
The main focus will be on Alastair Seeley's bid to set a new North West record of 16 wins - he has two more opportunities, in the Superstock and feature Superbike races.
But the Supertwins are next on the Triangle course, with Ryan Farquhar aiming to repeat his victory in the class on Thursday night.
