As it stands, Dean Harrison is on track for a third TT win - adding to his maiden victory in the Lightweight Supertwins in 2014 and a victory in the Supersports last year.

The Yorkshireman also has NINE second-place finishes to his name so a win in this - the much-coveted Senior TT - would be all the sweeter given his number of near misses.

Conor Cummins is only 17 seconds behind Peter Hickman now.

Dean Harrison leads by 40 seconds. Just stay on it and it's a win...

Peter Hickman will be gutted. But let's remember that Dean Harrison led this race for over five laps last year and Hickman pipped him right at the end.

Trevor West: This just shows how much of a team event the TT is. Both rider and machine need to be on song for the whole 6 laps. Rooting for you guys

  5. Harrison leads by 31 secondspublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

Can Conor Cummins catch Peter Hickman for second? Hickman will deserve an awful lot of credit if he hangs on with this broken bike!

  6. Postpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

Dean Harrison has two TT wins to his name - but he hasn't won a Senior. He's maybe 12 minutes away from taking the big one...

Cummins is about 15 seconds back but interestingly didn't make up any time on Hickman in the last sector. Maybe Hicky's BMW is running OK until they hit top, top speed.

Peter Hickman crosses the line - we wondered if he may pull in and retire but he's carrying on.

    He's 18.38 seconds behind.

Dean Harrison screams over the line to start his last lap. Can he hold on to win the Senior TT?

Niamh Lewis: It’s funny that in he Isle of Man TT, the bikes sometimes give up before the riders do. What are these boys made of!?

Dean Harrison now leads by nearly 15 seconds. Peter Hickman is now nursing this home for a podium finish. Conor Cummins is just over 30 seconds behind him but catching him fast.

What a turnaround! Dean Harrison leads at Ramsey, and by nearly eight seconds too.

What a shame for Peter Hickman. That BMW is falling apart.

Hickman looks like he's being let down by his tools at the moment though. That's all part of the TT.

  17. Hickman the all-rounderpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

    Richard Petrie
BBC Sport NI at the Isle of Man TT

Peter Hickman continues to establish himself as the best 'all-rounder' in British motorcycle racing.

The Lincolnshire rider is not only proving himself the dominant force in TT racing but he is also aiming to reach the 'Top Six Showdown' in British Superbikes for the third consecutive year, having finished fourth and fifth in the premier short circuit series on these isles over the past two seasons.

Add to that, three successes at the Macau Grand Prix street race, a couple of North West 200 victories, five wins at the Ulster Grand Prix and a big chunk of World Endurance racing around the globe and you start to get my drift.

Hickman was even winning at the Whanganui Cemetery Circuit on Boxing Day when the rest of us were deciding what to do with our turkey leftovers!

This must be mechanical problems for Peter Hickman. He's lost nearly 16 seconds in half a lap!

And he's only done 159mph down Sulby Straight. Almost 40mph down on normal.

    This race is ON!

Peter Hickman leads by just one second now at Ballaugh!

Peter Hickman did overshoot a corner last year if memory serves, that's a possibility too.

All very interesting. Let's see what it is at Ballaugh.
