Kevin Daly: Monaghan really missing both Hughes, lacking men in midfield. More early balls into Quigley, hopefully will open Monaghan up.

    Jo: Fermanagh by one.

Emma: Kieran Hughes totally deserved the black card.

I don't know what Kieran Hughes was doing when he got the black card. His retaliation was silly. He let his team-mates down badly.

  7. McManus and McCluskey tanglepublished at 19:43 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

Just before the break, following a tangle of bodies, replays suggest Conor McManus may have stepped on Ryan McCluskey but it looks accidental. That is referee Derek O'Mahony's view as well as he takes no action apart from awarding a Fermanagh free for McManus' initial challenge. In fairness, McCluskey looked to be holding on to McManus to prevent the Monaghan man's escape and Martin McHugh says the Fermanagh player could have been black carded by the letter of the law.

  8. Half-time: Monaghan 1-8 1-6 Fermanaghpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

Jack McCarron kicks Monaghan ahead again from a free after a silly concession by the Fermanagh defence and Conor McManus strokes over another free deep in injury-time. Monaghan fortunate to be ahead at the break.

  9. Monaghan 1-6 1-6 Fermanaghpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

After some poor shooting by the Monaghan attackers, Karl O'Connell shows them how it's done by firing over a fine left-foot shot. Conor McCarthy then strokes over a delicious Monaghan point with the outside of his left boot. But Fermanagh are quickly level again as Corrigan hits his first point from play. Nearing half-time now.

    Fermanagh ahead again

Lee Cullen strokes over a Fermanagh point to put them ahead on 25 minutes. This game certainly isn't going to the script so far. Ryan McCluskey has been brilliant for the Ernemen.

Bar the Monaghan goal, Fermanagh have been largely on top. Jack McCarron is also cutting a very frustrated figure in the Monaghan attack.

  13. Monaghan 1-4 1-4 Fermanaghpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

    Lyons nets for Fermanagh

Did we question Fermanagh's resolve? How silly. Ryan Lyons nets to level the contest from close range on 21 minutes after a brilliant run and pass from Paul McCusker.

  14. Monaghan 1-4 0-4 Fermanaghpublished at 19:23 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

A moment of defensive sloppiness then gifts possession to Corrigan and Ryan McAnespie is forced to concede a 13-metre free. McAnespie maybe lucky to avoid a black card. Corrigan points free.

  15. GOAL: Monaghan 1-4 0-3 Fermanaghpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 20 May 2017

But after their impressive start, Fermanagh concede a dreadful goal on 15 minutes as Thomas Treacy's short kickout goes astray to present Conor McManus with a simple finish. Shane Carey quickly tags on another Monaghan point. A test of Fermanagh's resolve now.
