It's all over in Baku!

A hugely satisfying evening for Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland side as they claim a 3-0 win thanks to Callum Robinson's first-half double and Chiedozie Ogbene's late header.

It was far from comfortable for the Irish at times, and they spurned several chances to keep Azerbaijan's hopes alive, but the hosts lacked a cutting edge in the attacking third.

It's a first competitive win for Kenny at the 13th time of asking.

How has that not gone in?!

Brilliant play by Chiedozie Ogbene, who eludes a couple of home players and finds Jamie McGrath on the edge.

His effort is stopped but it falls to Troy Parrott, just seconds after coming in. The young striker is thwarted and he's felled as he goes for the rebound.

He wants a penalty, but nothing given.

Another chance goes begging for Callum Robinson.

He could have scored six tonight, to be honest. His latest failed attempt at grabbing a hat-trick comes via a weak header after a superb Chiedozie Ogbene cross from the right.

Shakhruddin Magomedaliyev didn't know much about it, but he kept it out, much to Robinson's chagrin.

The Republic win their first corner.

It's taken by Josh Cullen, and it's a good one! It finds Shane Duffy, but his header is beaten behind by Shakhruddin Magomedaliyev.

The visitors just need to retain possession a little better.

Substitute Ramil Sheydaev skips past Callum Robinson and pulls a cross back, but Shane Duffy is well-placed and heads behind for Azerbaijan's seventh corner.

It fails to produce a clear-cut chance, though.

Azerbaijan will likely fall short here, but it's been a spirited second-half display.

The Republic, on the other hand, have looked edgy and reserved.

Azerbaijan nearly hit back!

Renat Dadasov, who's only been on the field a matter of seconds, causes trouble for the Republic defence and, while Shane Duffy manages a half-clearance, Qara Garayev smashes it first time.

Bazunu's reflexes are spot on, though, and the young keeper manages to beat the ball against the crossbar.

This hasn't been a very convincing second-half display by the visitors, but they've gotten away with it up to now.

The Irish breathe a huge sigh of relief!

The referee, Espen Eskas, has a good, long look at his pitchside monitor following a tussle between Matt Doherty and Mahir Emreli.

This time, Matt Doherty - who's been superb - gets to the byline and chips a fine cross into the striker. It's a tad too high, and he can't control the header.

Robinson yells in anguish. He wants that hat-trick.

Ogbene is straight into the action as he steals the ball and picks out Callum Robinson, who fails to convert at the near post.

It's not happening for Robinson in the second half.

Chiedozie Ogbene comes on to win his second Republic cap, replacing Adam Idah.

There are definitely a few more goals in this one for the visitors if they want them.

Jamie McGrath does brilliantly to fly past Maksim Medvedev down the right.

The St Mirren midfielder then finds James McClean, who made up a lot of ground to reach the edge of the box, but his shot is blocked.

That was a much-needed reprieve for the Irish, who were under pressure for a few minutes there.

The two-goal man's composure eludes him at the crucial moment after Josh Cullen wins possession and finds Adam Idah, who slides the striker in.

That should have been the third.

That would have been a brilliant third!
