That was some end to the half from the holders.

What a brilliant piece of composure from late addition Daryl Branagan, who calmly tucked his shot past Jonathan McGurn.

Paul Devlin followed that up with a fine effort from play and, all of a sudden, it's looking like an almighty challenge for the first-time finalists.

You wouldn't know it, though. Their fans have been in tremendous voice all afternoon.

  2. Devlin increases Kilcoo lead to six at the breakpublished at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-2 Kilcoo 1-5

What a nightmare couple of minutes for Derrygonnelly. Paul Devlin has just slotted another Kilcoo point seconds before the half-time break as the holders go in six up at the interval. Given Kilcoo's experience at this level, it's hard to see them squandering that kind of half-time advantage.

  3. goal

Late inclusion Branagan nets for Kilcoopublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-2 Kilcoo 1-4

My goodness that could be such a massive score. After Paul Devlin restored a two-point advantage for Kilcoo from a free, Daryl Branagan, who wasn't even in the team announced earlier this morning, has just fired a goal for the Magpies a couple of minutes before half-time. A five-point lead in these winter conditions - even at this stage of the game - looks huge.

  4. Jones steams over another pointpublished at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-2 Kilcoo 0-3 (15:45 GMT)

Ryan Jones hit Derrygonnelly's point with a beauty from a tight angle and he has just fired over another beauty from distance after a clever exchange of passes following his own quick free.

  5. Typical cagey football so farpublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-1 Kilcoo 0-3 (15:45 GMT)

Tactically the game is playing out as you would expect so far. Both teams have virtually everybody back in their own half when they don't have the ball. Then it all becomes about the turnover and the break at pace.

  6. Jones shot comes back off crossbarpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-1 Kilcoo 0-3 (15:45 GMT)

Conall Jones looked to have cut Kilcoo's lead but his point attempt after a quick free comes back off the crossbar and the holders are able to gather possession.

  7. Keeper Kane able to point for Kilcoopublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-1 Kilcoo 0-3 (15:45 BST)

After Derrygonnelly concede a rather unnecessary free 40 metres out when Kilcoo weren't looking particularly threatening, keeper Niall Kane arrows the placed ball over the bar to give the Down champions a two-point advantage.

Kilcoo have dominated possession but have been guilty of missing a few very scoreable opportunities.

Derrygonnelly can be heartened by the fact they're only one behind at the first water break.

  13. We're underway in Armaghpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly 0-0 Kilcoo 0-0 (15:45 GMT)

The action has begun in Armagh. Kilcoo won possession from the throw-in but then lost it as they made their way towards the Derrygonnelly 21 but from the turnover Conall Jones then fired a disappointing wide at the other end.

Great to see the Ulster club decider back after a two-year absence.

There's a real buzz about the place, too, and there's barely a head of hair in sight.

Everyone's been smart and wrapped up warm with hats, gloves and scarves.

I'm not wearing my hat yet, but I reckon that'll change very soon.

  20. Kilcoo rallying behind their heroespublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Derrygonnelly v Kilcoo (15:45 GMT)

Having already reached a couple of Ulster Club finals, the build-up has appeared understandably more low key in Kilcoo but it's safe to assume there has also been an exodus from the village in the heart of the Mournes this morning towards Armagh.
