We tuned into the Donegal Final a few weeks backs expecting the usual turgid, short-passing back and forth fare which has infected the county's club scene in recent years, but instead witnessed a Naomh Conaill team cutting loose with a marvellous mix of running football and score-taking from distance.
Indeed, Naomh Conaill's 1-16 to 1-8 win over the 2018 provincial champions Gaoth Dobhair was arguably the most impressive display of all this year's club finals in Ulster - with Gweedore's goal coming deep in injury-time.
Marauding wing-back Ethan O'Donnell and Ciaran Thompson were the pick of the Glenties bunch but there were a host of other impressive performers for Martin Regan's side.
But will they be able to repeat that kind of form against a Gowna side that hammered Kingscourt 5-15 to 0-13 in the Cavan decider?
Ryan Brady was particularly impressive in the Cavan Final while Tiarnan Madden notched two goals.
Whether both teams will be able to create the space that they got in their respective county finals remains to be seen though.
