    Down 3-8 Limerick 0-5

Liam Kerr taps over a close range free, Peter Nash repeats the feat at the other end with Limerick’s first score in 22 minutes right on the half- time whistle.

Limerick started like a team with real purpose racing into a three-point lead but, 3-6 without reply in a twenty minute spell has Down in a well- deserved lead.

Goals win games and the two penalties from Odhran Murdock wouldn’t look out of place in Wembley never mind Pairc Esler, Daniel Guinness’ finish wasn’t half bad either.

Fermanagh are playing with more creativity up front, but Kildare, it seems very clueless as to how they are trying to break this Fermanagh side down. They look toothless.

It is a difficult mistake for Kildare to stomach, Mark Donnellan is a bit unfortunate, he did not deal with it. For it to drop in the net at this stage of the game is huge for Fermanagh and a sucker punch for Kildare.
