    Mayo are still dangerous.

Ryan O'Donoghue, their top scorer in the league, is on now and points to keep them in touch. Fergal Boland then launches a long-range missile after Seanie O'Donnell gives the ball away cheaply.

Is there any way back for them or can Tyrone manage this one through to the end?

    Another majestic score from him.

Offaly came into the game as underdogs, but they are giving Down a stern test here.

That's three goal chances that have failed to raise a green flag for Declan Kelly's team.

    Tyrone 0-8 Mayo 1-5

Mayo goalkeeper Rob Hennelly is making his first start in almost a year and he showed a lot of composure to convert a huge free from near the sideline.

McCurry 'dazzles' hitting a point with the outside of his left boot that takes a nick off the post before going over. He's made a big impact since coming on at half time with 0-3 already.

  10. Close!published at 41mins

    Tyrone 0-7 Mayo 1-4

Peter Harte pulls on a loose ball on the ground and it flies just wide.

Down are up and running now!

They got their key men on the scoresheet, with a Pat Havern free and a point on the run by Odhran Murdock.

Then Daniel Guinness was in for goal ,but was dispossessed by the Offaly defence. Liam Kerr was in the right place at the right time to drill home the game's opening goal.

Offaly have made a fast start to the game with two early scores.

They had a huge goal chance just seconds into the game, as a high ball caught out the Down full back line and Jordan Hayes was in one on one. However, he blazed his shot over and had to settle for a point.

    Down v Offaly (18:00 GMT)

Offaly have made two late changes to their starting team, as Keith O'Neill and Jack Bryant come in for Cian Farrell and Nigel Dunne.

    Down line-out as selected.

  18. Half-timepublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Tyrone 0-4 Mayo 1-4

Plenty to ponder for both sides.

The penalty was the all-important score and it will be interesting to hear what both camps thought about the contentious decision to award a penalty for 'a goal-scoring opportunity'.

Mayo look like they are playing well within themselves and Tyrone look like they're waiting on something to happen, rather than making it happen.

The relegation-threatened Red Hands will have to come out and attack this game in the second half because their need is by far the greater.

  20. Team newspublished at 17:50 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Down v Offaly

Down are hoping to keep their perfect start to the league intact against strugglers Offaly this evening.

Conor Laverty hasn't tweaked too much on his team with just two changes to the side who defeated Antrim by nine points last week. Danny Magill makes his full return from injury to take the place of Conor Francis, whilst Paddy McCarthy is in for Niall McParland.

On this week's episode of the GAA Social, Wicklow manager Oisin McConville conceded that it is a three-way fight for survival in Division Three. With no points on the board, Offaly are certainly in that fight, alongside Limerick and Wicklow.

Offaly lost to Clare at the death last week, but they have made no changes to the starting 15 from that game.

    Down: J O'Hare; P Fgean, R McEvoy, C Doherty; M Rooney, P Laverty, P McCarthy; O Murdock, S Annett; C Mooney, L Kerr, D Guinness; D Magill, P Havern, J Guinness.

    Offaly: I Duffy; L Pearson, D Dempsey, A Bracken; C Egan, J Furlong, J O'Brein; E Carroll, P Cunningham; K McDermott, R McNamee, J Hayes; D Hyland, C Farrell, N Dunne.
