  1. 'Not going to be easy for Jeremy McWilliams'published at 09:58 British Summer Time 9 May

    Philip McCallen
11-time race winner at the NW200

At 60-years of age we're very proud of what Jeremy [McWilliams] is doing, but I was looking at the timesheets last night and we have a lot of local men at his heels so it's not going to be easy for him.

  2. Age is no barrierpublished at 09:57 British Summer Time 9 May

Just over 15 minutes into this Supertwins session and sixty-year-old Jeremy McWilliams is proving age is no barrier as he continues his form of yesterday, topping the lap speeds early on today at 108.206mph.

That's faster than the speed he set in first qualifying on Wednesday afternoon.

Mike Browne is giving chase with 107.545, then Peter Hickman 107.453 and Richard Cooper at 106.852.

    Jenny Tinmouth
Fastest woman around the IOM TT

It was perfect yesterday, perfect conditions and the pace of all the riders straight out of the gate was fantastic.

It was fantastic to be down here and to be in amongst it and to smell it!

  5. Dunlop aiming to end NW200 droughtpublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 9 May

Michael Dunlop says he is pushing to end his North West 200 win drought at the 2024 event.

Despite extending his number of victories at the Isle of Man TT to 25, Dunlop last won at the Northern Ireland road race in 2016.

The 35-year-old, who is nursing a wrist injury after a crash at the Cookstown 100, has brought three new motorcycles to the road race.

“I would like to have a win here and come Thursday and Saturday we’ll have a push,” Dunlop told BBC Sport NI.

  7. Irwin sets fastest Superbike time in first sessionpublished at 09:45 British Summer Time 9 May

Glenn Irwin set an unofficial course lap record in posting the fastest speed of the opening Superbike practice session at the North West 200 on Wednesday.

The PBM Ducati rider topped the timesheets with a lap of four minutes 18.553 seconds, 124.895mph.

That speed bettered Peter Hickman's two-year-old existing benchmark of 124.799 by two tenths of a second but remains unofficial as only laps registered in a race count towards the official record books.

Irwin was fastest for most of the session until Milwaukee BMW rider Davey Todd moved to the summit of the leaderboard with a circuit at 124.243.

Supertwins are off and running folks, a prompt start from the organisers today.

  9. Wednesday's practice resultspublished at 09:40 British Summer Time 9 May

Anyone who thought Glenn Irwin would have it all his own way in the Superbike class can think again as Davey Todd threw down the gauntlet to the eight-time winner, posting a lap speed just 1.35 seconds slower than Irwin.

It was a productive day for Todd, who also topped the Superstock times and was second behind Richard Cooper in the Supersports.

Jeremy McWilliams was best of the Supertwins in their truncated session.

Michael Dunlop performed well too, with three third places on the leaderboards, while Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman were in the mix too.

It's nice and dry in the air this morning and the forecast looks great, but the overnight rain on the north coast has left its mark.

There are damp patches right around the circuit, especially on the start/finish where the morning traffic hasn't had a chance to dry the tarmac out.

It will prove to be a tricky test for the riders, especially for those who want to improve their grid positions.
