    Golfer Rose enjoying Olympics experience

Justin Rose is one of the leading contenders as golf returns to the Olympics next week.

And while the world's top four are missing the event, citing fears over the Zika virus, the Englishman is lapping up the Olympics vibe.

After a stint at the swimming, and an ace time at the tennis, we wonder where JR will turn up next?

A cameraman is focusing on the posh seats, adjusting his lens, taking a picture from different angles. Interesting, I thought. Not quite so, unfortunately. I sneak over and find it's a folically-challenged middle-aged man in a blazer. Yes, you've guessed it, it's Prince Albert of Monaco.

In terms of the competition itself, it's squeaky bum time, though perhaps the wrong turn of phrase considering the size of the trunks. One round to go and Daley and Goodfellow are still in contention.

    Final round of dives.

China are in the distance and have gold sewn up.

    USA are second with 362.07

    GB third on 354.81.

And Germany are fourth on 352.02.

It's tight - one dive away from a medal or nothing at all.

"That's the best dive Daley and Goodfellow have done today. They had to nail it and they have done. That's going to help them. They are in medal contention with one round to go."

Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow perform the exact same dive as the Chinese pair - brave stuff.

It's not as good, but it's decent! 92.13 and that puts them up to third with one dive remaining.

"Now Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow have to perform the same dive."

The Americans have been the pinnacle of consistency as they land another dive in the mid-80s.

Ukraine, meanwhile, get it all wrong as both divers enter the water pointing in different directions. Abstract, to say the least, like a Kandinsky.

China, though, are unstoppable. They've tackled a challenging dive and it's a thing of absolute beauty. They get out of the pool and bow to the crowd, who are appreciating it. 106.56! What a whopping score that is!

    Now for the GB boys.

Rider slips out of medal contention

British rider William Fox-Pitt has been one of THE stories in the early stages of the 2016 Olympics.

In a coma 10 months ago, he recovered to lead the eventing competition after the dressage stage.

He is now down to 21st after the cross-country stage, but one person is understandably proud - his wife, horse racing presenter Alice.

Just as I was heaping praise on the Chinese pair, they have a minor wobble. Nothing to throw them off their stride, mind.

Here's Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow for dive number four.... and so close to being great!

Dan creates a more noticeable splash than Tom - it's an 81.60. Not terrible.

It puts them fifth, but less than five points behind third-placed Germany.

The USA are not here to put boots on caterpillars - they score an 85.68 with a lovely dive.

That puts them in the mix with Mexico, Germany and GB for second and third.

GB are still to have their fourth dive - as have the Chinese but they look set to romp to gold.
