    Men's light-heavyweight round of 32

Here comes Joshua Buatsi, can he join his three compatriots from yesterday in the last 16?

His opponent, Kennedy Katende of Uganda, is a large man. Short, but powerful.

Buatsi has a massive reach and height advantage - will that be decisive?

    We're off.

There's a lot of buzz around the women's British rugby sevens team - and this try from Amy Wilson-Hardy in today's win over Canada will show you why.

GB are in quarter-final action later.

The first heat of the women's 100m backstroke has just taken place, and it was won by the youngest athlete at Rio 2016.

Nepal's Gaurika Singh is just 13 years and 255 days old.

But she will have to wait to find out if her time of 1 minute and 8.45 seconds is fast enough to progress to the semi-finals...

That's a classy result for GB women, clinical in their finishing, Emily Scarratt ran in a couple of tries in the second period.

The hug Amy Wilson-Hardy gave Jasmine Joyce afterwards was bear like, it looked like that win meant a great deal.

It is now likely GB will face Fiji in the last eight. That won't be easy as Fiji have some weapons but Scarratt and her crew have beaten better opposition  already in seeing off Canada.

It's not definitely to be Fiji, that's the most likely. The Southern Hemisphere side are up next against Colombia. Only one winner.

GB beat Canada 22-0 to finish top of their group.

Georgia Davies is the first Brit in action at 17:11 BST, in the heats for the women's 100m backstroke.

Also taking part in heats are Cam Kurle and world champion James Guy in the men's 200m freestyle from 17:19 BST.

Belgium's Lotte Kopecky is feeling bolshie. She's decided to go it alone and nobody has followed. In fact she's more than 2mins ahead of the peloton.

It's an absolute grind cycling on your tod like that with no protection from the wind.

Wind can cause chaos in a peloton too, because if gaps appear, and there's a big gust between you and everyone else, you can get stranded. There's been one or two moments of panic in the peloton, but no disruption yet.

Joshua Buatsi is the only Brit to fight on Sunday, but he's got enough personality to make up.

Born in Ghana, the 23-year-old came to England when he was nine, and grew on on an estate in Croydon.

The light-heavyweight's idol is American legend Joe Frazier, and he says he's in Rio to win gold.

An intriguing biography, but how will he go in the ring?

He's next up, so we'll soon find out.

"I'm gutted, just absolutely gutted," GB fencer James Davis tells me after his heartbreaking 15-13 defeat to reigning European champion Tamir Safin in the round of 16.

"I wasn't happy with a few of the calls (decisions by officials), but perhaps I used my video appeal too early. I really thought I had him but this has happened before with Tamir and I'm so gutted it's happened again.

"I know there's the team event coming up later in the week, but I can't think about that now - this (loss) is just going to be something I have to deal with over the next few days."

    Canoe slalom

The canoeing gets going today with the men's heats in the canoe single and kayak.

It was supposed to get going from 16:30 BST - but the start's been put back an hour because of strong winds.

Great Britain's double Olympic silver medallist and world champion David Florence (below) will be up in the canoe single at about 18:07, while Joseph Clarke is making his Olympic debut in the kayak competition at 19:03.

The difference between a canoe and a kayak? Crudely put, in the canoe you've got a single-bladed paddle, in the kayak it's double-bladed.

Ah, well, a scorcher may not be the order of the day after all.

After a nervy first game, Williams puts on the after-burners to race to 40-15 on Gavrilova's serve.

The Australian pulls it back to deuce, but can't land a first serve when she needed it most, allowing the world number one to break at the first time of asking.
