Women's 1500m heats
Good news for GB. Laura Weightman has made it through, she joins Laura Muir in the semi-finals.
Women's heptathlon
Katarina Johnson-Thompson needs a solid throw in her second shot. Here she comes - 11.68m.
That is not very far at all. Her lead could be under threat here.
Men's -85kg weightlifting
Kianoush Rostami of Iran won men's -85kg weightlifting gold, lifting a world record combined total of 396kg.
Rostami, 25, lifted 217kg in the clean and jerk with his last lift to break his own world record and beat China's Tao Tian to first.
Tian equalled Rostami's clean and jerk lift, but missed out on gold by just one kilogram.
Gabriel Sincraian of Romania won bronze, lifting a combined 390kg.
Women's 1500m heats
Very comfortable for Laura Muir as she jogs her heat to finish third and easily qualify. The heat was won by Dawit Seyaum in 4:05.33.
Muir straight through.
Women's heptathlon
Jessica Ennis-Hill for her second of three shot puts. Bang - only 13.34m though. That's 10cm down on her opener.
As it stands Nafissatou Thiam will extend her lead in silver spot and could even go into the lead.

Brendan Foster
Olympic medallist and BBC athletics commentator on BBC One
Laura Weightman struggled in the back straight there. When Hassan came flying past her I thought that was a chance for Laura – she should have gone with her but there wasn’t any response.
But she’s the fastest loser. She’ll have a bit of a nervous sweat on but she’ll be quite confident that six athletes won’t go faster than her.
Women's 1500m heats
Laura Weightman has just been speaking to BBC One, after she finished seventh to leave her relying on being a fastest loser to reach the semi-finals.
"I should go through in that time, it was a bit silly not to go through automatically," she said.
"It was a messy race, but that’s championship racing and hopefully it’ll get me through.
"Hopefully I’ll get into that semi and be fine. There were a few silly mistakes in that race but I know I’m in good form."
Women's 1500m heats
Heat three has just started - keep an eye on GB's Laura Muir. She's having a superb season and [whisper it] has a medal shout...
Women's heptathlon
Just seen Katarina Johnson-Thompson's first shot. It was a poor effort and she walked out of the front of the ring.

Disappointing crowds again in Estadio Olimpico. May be slightly fuller than morning session, but it's a marginal one. It's only day one of track and field, but so far Rio isn't so much embracing the athletics as offering a half-hearted wave in the distance.
Women's 1500m heats
Laura Weightman finishes seventh in her heat, she'll have to watch the clock as only the top six went through.
The heat was won easily by Sifan Hassan with Faith Kipyegon just in behind.
Six fastest losers from the three heats go through. That could be enough for Weightman.
Women's heptathlon
Katarina Johnson-Thompson has fouled her first throw in the shot. I haven't actually seen it yet so can't tell you how. But I will update.
Women's 1500m heats
Faith Kipyegon is the class act in this second heat and she has moved on to the shoulder of the leader at 800m. Sprint finish?
Women's 1500m heats
The first heat was won by the great Genzebe Dibaba in 4:10.61. So not the fastest time, which may help Laura Weightman qualify.
Under way.
Women's heptathlon
Jessica Ennis-Hill is up for her first shot put. Looks decent - 13.44m.
Steady. But no better than that.
Women's 1500m heats
Laura Weightman is next up in the 1500 heats, alongside Faith Kipyegon. Away in a minute.
Women's heptathlon
The heptathlon shot put is under way! Looks like a good old wait until either of the Team GB stars get to throw. I'll keep an eye on it.
Women's 1500m heats
Laura Weightman (00:41 BST) and Laura Muir (00:52 BST) run for Team GB in the women's 1500m heats this evening.
Muir broke Dame Kelly Holmes' British record at the recent Anniversary Games in a time of 3:57.49 - she is the second-fastest athlete this year.
Only Faith Kipyegon of Kenya has gone faster. She goes in the same heat as Weightman.
