If the American fancies winning gold number 24 then it might be worth heading over to the atltetics stadium...
Still to come
Weather dependent...
The rain hammers down, there doesn't look to be much prospect of any action at the time being but here are the events set to be completed:
Women's discus qualification
Men's pole vault final
Men's 110m heats 3-5
Women's 400m hurdles heats
Men's 800m final
Women's 400m final
It's raining
Gabby Logan
BBC One presenter in Rio
We're nice and dry...
It's raining...
The officials have walked off the track/lake.
Wet, wet, wet
It must be tempting to call it all off...
Men's 100m hurdlers
Colin Jackson
Two-time world 110m hurdles champion on BBC TV
These are awful conditions for these hurdlers.
Under these conditions the track looks like a mirror because of the lights in the puddles, so it’s very hard to spot the hurdles.
Men's 110m hurdles
And the rain has its first casualty. Jamaican Deuce Carter smashes a hurdle or two as the hurdlers all struggle with their footing at times.
Orlando Ortega cruised to the win though.
Men's 100m hurdles
A few of them aren't happy but the second heat is under way...
Tom Fordyce
Chief sports writer in Rio
Torrential rain in the Estadio Olimpico, reminiscent of that night in 2002 in Munich, in another Olympic stadium, when Paula Radcliffe splashed through the puddles to win 10,000m gold. Which is a great memory, but when the two events they're trying to run here are sprint hurdles and pole vault, not a happy comparison.
Carpe diem
Jamaican 110m hurdler Omar McLeod to BBC Sport: "I know how to work through climates like this - I train in Arkansas, I just wanted to get through the first run and have a good set-up for tomorrow.
"The confidence is always high, it is good to have confidence in a hurdle race like this - I'm ready to go there and have run.
"I'm trying to seize the moment, embrace the opportunity and enjoy every day."
The track is flooding!
The rain is flooding the track now. I wonder if they can carry on much longer.
You can't have David Rudisha running an 800m in this...
Men's pole vault
Steve Backley
Four-time European javelin champion on BBC TV
It’s a great pole vault final in the making, but we want to see it on a safe and level playing field.
Men's pole vault
Steve Backley says the pole vault may be under threat tonight. It is absolutely chucking it down in the stadium.
I wouldn't want to sprint and make a six-metre jump in these conditions...
Women's discus
Could it be a golden generation of GB female throwers?
Earlier on this afternoon Sophie Hitchon became the first British woman to win an Olympic hammer medal by taking bronze, and now Jade Lally will be hoping to make the discus final.
Lally, 29, broke the British record earlier this year to throw 65.10m and is ranked in the top 10 in the world this year.
The top 12 go through to the final - or chuck it 62.00m and it's an instant place.
To put that into some sort of context - it's like throwing a bag of sugar over 14 Ford Focuses.
Men's +105kg weightlifting
Ruslan Nurudinov has won the men's +105kg weightlifting gold for Uzbekistan.
Nurudinov, 24, lifted an Olympic record 237kg in the clean and jerk, as well as 194kg in the snatch, to give him a combined total of 431kg.
That was 14kg clear of his nearest rival, Armenia's Simon Martirosyan, 19, who won the youth Olympics in 2014.
Alexandr Zaichikov of Kazakhstan took the bronze, lifting a combined 416kg.
Men's 110m hurdles
Omar McLeod gets the job done, super slick and he jogs 13.28 seconds. Alexander John of Germany has a nightmare, clattering a hurdle and bailing out of the Olympics.
Men's 110m hurdles
In heat one we have Jamaica's Omar McLeod. He's run five of the fastest seven times this year. A heavy favourite.
He's the only man to run sub-13 seconds this year. He won't tonight. It's wet and it looks chilly too.
