Not only are the barriers built like skyscrapers, but the rider-horse teams must complete the course in 68 seconds, or gain a penalty for every second they are over. Nick Skelton and Big Star will be out in about 10 minutes.

To give you an idea, these fences are around 1.65m high. That's like jumping over Simone Biles with a big hat on. The water jump has a span of more than 4m.

Yep, it's true, the Rio Olympics is coming to an end. No longer are cyclists riding to and from and velodrome. At the tennis, the only sound that can be heard is the squawking of a bird flying overhead. There are no lines on the courts, no nets, no evidence that just last week some of the world's best were performing here. After seven years of planning, it's over in a blink of an eye, but hopefully everyone will leave with fond memories of incredible feats.

It would be fantastic if Nick Skelton and Big Star can get a medal. He felt he could have got one in London, it would be incredible to see that.
Germany were expected to dominate across all of the equestrian and that hasn't happened.
They will want to right some wrongs.

On my way to Deodoro I spot the familiar face of Thomas Mairs, boyfriend of GB hockey star Sam Quek.
Alongside a pal and the brother of GB's Sophie Bray he tells me how excited he is for tonight's gold medal match against Netherlands.
Their fancy dress choice will be ballet outfits and their drum is perhaps going to have to be sneaked in as there's whispers that its use may be frowned upon. I'll reveal more on this later.
Tom is clearly buzzing, though he's more than aware of how good the Dutch are.
"Sam says she's not nervous, I've had no sleep and have bags under my eyes," he says.
Yep, Great Britain will be rocking the flashy trainers you last wore when you were five (it was trainers with lights in the heels, or wheels, right?)
I can't decide if they are cool or not. I mean, they probably look good when loads of you are wearing them, but you wouldn't go to the supermarket in a pair would you?

Canada lead in the women's bronze-medal match. A break down the left, the ball squared into the path of 17-year-old Deanne Rose, who finishes at the back post. No more than Canada deserve.

It's been a rather confusing spectacle. Germany were in all black and New Zealand in all white. Work that one out.
Synchronised swimming
No surprises at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre, where Russia have claimed their fifth synchronised swimming team gold in a row, with a total of 196.1439.
China were second, as they were in London four years ago, and Japan took bronze.

Still goalless in the bronze-medal match in Sao Paulo, despite Christine Sinclair hitting the bar for the Canadians. At the other end, Marta is dancing to terrorise the red defence.
The historical success of Team GB's gymnasts in Rio has triggered enormous interest from the public wanting to get involved.
Compared to the same period last year visits to British Gymnastic's participation website are up a staggering 380%.

Great Britain's Charley Hull is in the hunt for a medal in the women's golf tournament.
In the third of four rounds, she is now up to tied second after birdies on the fifth and sixth holes.
She is on two under for the day through six, and 10 under overall with South Korea's Inbee Park three shots clear at the front.
Fellow Briton Catriona Matthew's medal hopes are vanishing and she is two over for the day through 10 and down in tied 20th overall. The final round takes place on Saturday.
