This is silly now! Germany hit the crossbar for a third time inside 35 minutes as Sven Bender flicks a near-post header across goal and onto the woodwork.

GB's Joe Choong has started his bid to win a modern pentathlon medal.

He starts the shoot-run combo in second place - it's all a bit manic.

Talk about picking your moment. Not sure I've heard a louder roar at a football match. That was the sound of talisman Neymar scoring at the Maracana in an Olympic final, with Brazil aiming for their first gold medal. 

Moments come don't come much bigger and the crowd are showing their appreciation. "Ole, ole, ole, ole, Neymar, Neymar," they sing in unison. 

Every single one of them.

And it's prove costly. Mahama Cho will not be in the Olympic final and will instead go for bronze.

That's two British competitors out of gold medal contention within a matter of minutes.

After that let off though Mahama Cho concedes a legtitimate head kick. He's seconds away from going out.

The referee elaborately shows a blue card to signal the TV replay is forthcoming and the TV official puts up a big thumb.

That's good news!

Sensational! What a time to do it as well. Neymar steps up to take a free-kick perhaps 25 yards out, loads of whip and dip, power too, and it goes in off the underside of the crossbar.

It's his fourth goal of the tournament.
