Team GB taekwondo athlete Damon Sansum: "These two know each other's styles. It is quite slow paced at the moment. I'd like to see Cho be a bit more proactive and search for points."

Brazil are really growing into this game, creating a few openings without having any clear cut chances.

We're treated to another pointless opening round.

GB's Mahama Cho and Azerbaijan's Radik Isaev get all tactical on us and head into round two at 0-0.

One real chance for Brazil so far. This is gripping stuff, but not an easy match for the referee.

It seems so wrong that you are watching your TV urging her to "kick her, kick her" but you can't help it.

Right. No time to dwell on the cruel sport that is taekwondo. We're back on the mat again.

GB's Mahama Cho is up against Azerbaijan's Radik Isaev in his semi.

    And they're under way.

    Relentless stuff.

That Julian Brandt effort knocked the punch out of the home crowd for a few minutes, but all they need to find their voices again is a Brazilian surge towards the Germany penalty area.

It's rare that you see a whole stadium jump up and down to the same tune, but no-one here is remaining on their seats.

    The noise is bone-shaking.

For those who are no longer interested in diving because of Tom Daley's absence from the 10m final - you're missing a treat. The 'DJ' is playing classic tunes, some ACDC to get the crowd rocking, then some R&B to calm everyone down again.

Who knows who will win gold. It's probably between reigning champion David Boudia and China's Chen Aisen which is fitting as it's American and Chinese cheers which are dominating at the Aquatics Centre.

Team GB's Damon Sansum: "Zheng persisted quite well. Bianca avoided the first two actions but Zheng kept her leg there until she found the head guard.

"Very unfortunate for Bianca but she needs to realise she still fights for bronze. I know she can win, she just needs to get herself feeling positive and go for it."

The Liverpudlian has to pull herself together though - she goes into the repechage for a bronze medal.

And that's how the final round finishes - 1-1.

We go to a golden point round. The first athlete to score goes into the Olympic final.

GB's Bianca Walkden needs to dip into the well and pull out a bucket of grit.

Off the bar! Germany within the width of a gold medal of taking the lead. Serge Gnabry - who should be knocking hard on Arsene Wenger's door when he returns - tees up Julian Brandt maybe 22 yards out, and he floats a shot over Brazil keeper Weverton but flush on to the crossbar.
