Team GB's Damon Sansum: "Zheng persisted quite well. Bianca avoided the first two actions but Zheng kept her leg there until she found the head guard. 

"Very unfortunate for Bianca but she needs to realise she still fights for bronze. I know she can win, she just needs to get herself feeling positive and go for it."

Bianca Walkden looks crestfallen, tears flowing. The world champion will not be Olympic champion.

The Liverpudlian has to pull herself together though - she goes into the repechage for a bronze medal.

We go to a golden point round. The first athlete to score goes into the Olympic final.

GB's Bianca Walkden needs to dip into the well and pull out a bucket of grit.
