It's another busy afternoon at the fan park, and that is because there's football on the big screen. Beer, burgers, Brazil going for bronze, shade - the appeal is obvious. But Brazil are up against it, 2-0 down against Canada, so the fans are yet to get going.

Behind us a well-known car manufacturer is putting on a strange show with cars 'dancing' to a Brazilian beat - bonnets move up and down Withiut obvious assistance, front lights are flashing. They've all been injected with the spirit of Herbie.

    Brazil 1-2 Canada (78 mins)

Game on in Sao Paulo. Brazil have scored in the women's bronze-medal match and trail 2-1 to Canada with 10 minutes left.

Beatriz is the goalscorer, taking a touch and shooting on the turn to score after team-mate Erika had flicked on a long throw.

And then there were five. Sweden's Peder Fredricson. This jump-off is going to be crowded.

The jump-off, by the way, will work something like this. The riders go out in the same order over a shortened course. Fewest penalties wins. If they can't be separated. the fastest wins. If they still can't be split, they do it again.

More company, America's Kent Farrington (that is surely an alter-ego for a superhero) goes clear. Four tied at the top.

Did I mention that Nick Skelton is 58? Perhaps I should have made the clear when I said that this is his seventh Games. I feel an 'Oldest British Olympic medalists' list coming on. Three to go...

Four to go. Three still tied at the top of the leaderboard. As it stands, Nick Skelton is getting a medal.

    "Two."

"Right, we need a picture with the Olympic Rings. Now. Pronto."

    "But it's approaching 30C and there's a long queue."

"Let the sun do whatever it wants to me - THEY'RE THE OLYMPIC RINGS!"

Samantha Murray is in unbelievable form in the women's modern pentathlon fencing bonus round.

She has beaten eight opponents in a row. That's eight bonus seconds she will get on the combined events later today.

    Great Britain medal anyone?

With each win she screams "yes" at the top of her voice, sending opponents packing at pace.

Ah, commentator's kiss of death, she's beaten by a South Korean - but that's still a remarkable haul.

It's getting crowded up there now. Shiekh Ali al Thani of Qatar is the latest to go clear inside the time, giving him a total of exactly zero. Three-way jump-off at least.

Skelton, by the way, is appearing at his seventh Games. He's a bit of a survivor (and bionic man), who suffered a broken neck in 2000 and needed a hip replaced in 2011. He was part of the team that took jumping gold in 2012. If he's going to win a second gold, he needs to beat at least Guerdat in the jump-off. Still seven to go...

Women's bronze medal match: Brazil 0-2 Canada (60 mins)

Brazil are all over the place and nearly go 3-0 down. Deanne Rose, who has scored one and made one, has just hit the post for Canada, who remain 2-0 ahead.

There are about 50,000 fans in the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo and the majority are going to be going home very unhappy as it stands.

    Thirty minutes left.

Nick Skelton has company. Switzerland's Steve Guerdat goes clear and takes a share of first place. We're guaranteed a jump-off, but there may yet be more riders in it.

    Hull (GB) -9

    Charley HullImage source, Reuters

Great Britain's Charley Hull is still in the hunt for an Olympic medal. But, at the moment - albeit midway through the third round, it is looking unlikely to be gold.

Hull dropped a couple of shots before the turn to go back to eight-under par, but has just canned a birdie putt on the 10th.

She is tied in a four-way share of the silver medal position, three shots behind South Korea's seven-time major winner Inbee Park.

Women's bronze medal match - Brazil 0-2 Canada (52 mins)

Christine Sinclair, making her 250th international appearance, has put Canada 2-0 up in the bronze-medal match against Brazil.

Deanne Rose, 17, who scored the first, has just set up the second with a run down the right wing and was able to pick out an unmarked Sinclair. She took a touch and finished from eight yards out.

Hosts Brazil have just over 35 minutes to pull this game out of the fire.

Drama! Extraordinary stuff. The Netherlands' Jeroen Dubbeldam, the world champion, goes clear but is 0.02 seconds over the 68-second limit. 0.02! It's a penalty point that keeps Nick Skelton in gold-medal position.
