Steven: 46 year old Dallas Oberholzer showing that age is nothing but a number with his skateboarding skills.

Jason: I'm really enjoying the Olympic coverage of the skateboarding. Are there any other sports where 12 year olds & 46 years olds compete in the same discipline? So much talent and everyone smiling/supporting each other.

Dallas Obaholzer brings it home. He's out there doing it for all of the dads who roll round concrete bowls on Sunday mornings, for the rad-dads.

Yes Dallas, I'm feeling you. So he will bring up the rear with that score, but he can say he's been to the Olympics as a skateboarder.

We are already into the mid-80's - and I'm not talking about the temperature. Some of the biggest names have not made it through.

Take a breath, this is spectacular. It's delivering on all counts.

Is the skateboarding the most good-spirited event at the Olympics? We saw the great camaraderie among the youngsters in the women's park final yesterday and it has been the same in these men's prelims today, everyone quick to congratulate each other after their run.

A monster score of 84.31 has Luiz Francisco of Brazil top of the third prelim and into the final.

Asher-Smith: 'Never any doubt I'd be here'published at 02:32 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's 4x100m relay heats

    BBC One

GB's 4x100m relay team on BBC One:

Asha Philip: "It was an early start for all of us, we were on a 6:40am bus, breakfast at 6am and it was a stretch, but we knew we had a job to do so the time didn't really matter. We came out here to work, get a good time and get a good position for the final. We executed the race and we did well."

Imani-Lara Lansiquot: "It's been really inspirational, seeing how these girls have done in the individuals just spurred me on to want to put down a really good leg for them. I fully, fully have true belief and trust in all of us. It's been a crazy 18 months but I know we can bring it home."

Dina Asher-Smith: "There was never any doubt in my mind that I'd be lining up here today because the relay's really important, we got a bronze medal in Rio. These ladies are in great shape, they're incredibly talented, so I knew I had to rest up and get ready for the team event. I've been training hard to get ready."

Daryll Neita: "I was watching the first change on the screen thinking, 'ok, that was really good,' then I saw Imani running and by the time she's running I just get my head down. I saw Dina coming into it and I thought, 'it's go-time.'

"I really wanted to bring it to the finish for these girls. We've worked so hard. We haven't had that much practice and neither has the rest of the world in the pandemic.

"To come out here today in the heat and set a British record, to have amazing changes - we've got confidence. Girls, good job!"
