A moment to forget for Feluti Talanoa and it costs his side dear. Albert Kelly's steepling up-and-under comes his way and he seems to have claimed it only to spill it perfectly into Shaun Lunt's path. The hooker gratefully receives the gift and strolls over. Just what they wanted before the break.

Where to start...? A fight breaks out near the touchline after an altercation between Kris Welham and Steve Michaels, but as quickly as it starts it peters out as players suddenly realise that play is going on without them.

Hull FC run it on the last but the ball goes loose, giving the Robins the chance to hack forward. Hull FC full-back shows great pace to get to the ball first and then electric footwork to race back down the pitch, earning his side 30m in the process. Got all that?

It's difficult to see Wakefield coming back from this. After Scott Dureau extends the Dragons' lead with a penalty, Elliott Whitehead is just too big and strong for the Wildcats' defence and barges his way over in the corner. Dureau adds the extras once more.

"That's a poor piece of play by Kieran Dixon and he'll be disappointed with that.

"The game has a different complexion now. It was a bit of inexperience by Dixon and hopefully it won't come back to bite him."

Big decision from the video referee - Kieran Dixon is tackled by Jamie Shaul as he tries to run the ball out from behind his tryline. He grounds the ball in the field of play but then loses possession, with veteran Leon Pryce snaffling the ball and touching down.

There's a long wait as the video official views several angles but he eventually decides that the try should stand. There's one for a debate in the stands (and TV studios, social media and living rooms) at half-time.

Brilliant defence from Jack Logan this time as he ankle taps Darrell Goulding as the Hull KR centre races towards the tryline. The tap tackle is just enough to allow Goulding to be forced into touch - but Hull KR are on fire with ball in hand at the moment.

Catalans go over again at Belle Vue, with Ben Pomeroy getting the credit for number three. This could be a long night for the Wildcats.

Maurice Blair wins a penalty after two Hull FC defenders go high. And from the resulting possession, Kieran Dixon - who has been excellent so far - times his run to perfection before taking the pass and racing into a gap before sliding over. It's already looking a long way back for Lee Radford's men.

Widnes hit the front at the Halton Stadium. Rhys Hanbury makes the break and from the next play Kevin Brown kicks to Stefan Marsh in space on the wing.

After a breathless opening quarter, you might say things have settled down just a tad but only in the way a gale is slightly less intense than a storm (if you'll forgive the Beaufort scale meteorological reference in the middle of an enthralling Super League clash).

  11. TRYpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 2 April 2015

Not the start that Wakefield wanted after five straight defeats. Dragons gets numbers outside and Scott Dureau finds Willie Tonga, who finishes well.

Excellent take from Kieran Dixon after a beautifully placed kick puts him under pressure.

He earns his side a 20m restart after jumping from behind the tryline to take the ball in play despite the close attentions of Feluti Talanoa - full-back play of the highest order.

The atmosphere is something else at the KC Stadium. Darrell Goulding is forced over the touchline with the ball, giving the scrum to Hull FC near halfway, and the noise from the stands is like a try's just been scored.

  14. Ouch!published at 20:20 British Summer Time 2 April 2015

A ferocious tackle on Joe Westerman with three men in on the hit leads to a penalty after the loose forward is dumped dangerously back on the floor. Hull FC work it wide and Leon Pryce goes desperately close to a first try for his side but is held up. Superb defence.

Widnes are on the on the board. Stefan Marsh does the hard work out wide with a powerful run, and Rhys Hanbury sends Cameron Phelps over. Jack Owens puts the conversion attempt wide.

First blood to Catalans at Belle Vue where Benjamin Garcia is sent over by Thomas Bosc. Scott Dureau adds the extras.

  17. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 2 April 2015

Silly, silly play from Fetuli Talanoa as he brainlessly attempts to drag his opposite number over the touchline, well after the tackle was completed. The obvious result is a Hull KR penalty, relieving the pressure.

We're back under way at Widnes after that short delay and Gareth O'Brien kicks the conversion to make it 6-0 to the Wire.

  19. TRYpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 2 April 2015

We have the first points on the board at Widnes too where Ben Westwood has given Wolves the lead.

But before the conversion is taken a flare is thrown on to the pitch and referee Robert Hicks takes the players off the pitch because of safety concerns.

Hull FC are held up over the line and then two plays later put the high bomb up. Josh Mantellato gets nowhere near it as he attempts to defuse the danger, but gets away with it as the ball bounces away to safety. That could have gone anywhere though - a warning sign for the Robins.
