  4. Full time: Wigan Warriors 12-42 Brisbane Broncospublished at 21:58

A chastening night for Wigan as a clinical Brisbane Broncos ease to victory at the DW Stadium and give the NRL an unassailable 2-0 lead in this year's World Club Series.

The result will hurt, but more concerning for Wigan will be the plethora of injuries they've collected over the past couple of hours, most notably hooker Michael McIlorum with a broken ankle.

Finally some reward for Wigan and George Williams, who grabs a consolation try for the Warriors from close range.

They deserve that second score, for their efforts in the face of injury-induced adversity alone.

With the result assured, it's a case of counting down the minutes now for both sides. Four to go. And credit to both teams, they're both still giving it plenty.

  7. NO TRYpublished at 74 mins

A hat-trick for Brisbane's Corey Oates? No it's not. His hand is on the touchline as he acrobatically grounds the ball in the corner.

He may have got one similar in his favour in the first half, but the video referee rules against the Broncos winger this time.

It's important Wigan aim up here and hopefully the score doesn't become embarassing. They've been good for 80% of the game but they've been undone by how clinical Brisbane have been. The Broncos defence has been pretty good.

  9. try

TRY (Eden, goal Parker)published at 67 mins

What a moment for English winger Greg Eden.

The Broncos have their seventh try, matching Sydney Roosters' efforts 24 hours ago, courtesy of an 80-metre dart to the line by the former Huddersfield, Hull KR and Salford man.

Every Brisbane kick at goal has gone over tonight, six of them for Corey Parker.

Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has a smile on his face up in the stands, and with good reason.

Wigan get to within 10 metres of the try line once more, but prop Ben Flower spills the ball in a tackle with Corey Parker.

    When it's not your night...

Wigan centre Dan Sarginson knocks on with the try line at his mercy. Fortunately, a Brisbane player knocked on first, so the Warriors have a scrum deep in Broncos territory.

Kodi Nikorima extends Brisbane's lead still further, resisting the temptation to knock on a grubber kick and touches down unchallenged. His second of the match.

    Meanwhile, Wigan's injury woes continue...

A big swing in momentum in this match, and almost certainly "game over" now.

Wigan spill the ball with an overlap on their left touchline 10 metres out, the Broncos break quickly and Englishman Greg Eden sees his name up in lights for a second.

Lewis Tierney stops Eden's 50-metre dash to the line, but Brisbane winger Corey Oates strolls over on the other side of the field for his second try.

Brisbane have taken their opportunities, in the NRL you get fewer, you have to be clinical and incisive. A few poor defensive reads have helped Brisbane but both teams are rucking the same. Wigan are winning the field position in this second half.

Oh, unlucky Wigan. George Williams sends a fantastic looping pass to Oliver Gildart on the left touchline, but the young winger can't quite gather and the chance has gone.

The Warriors enjoying a decent spell at the start of the second half.

More excellent field position for Wigan as Sam Thaiday catches a ricochet from an offside position.

They start another attacking set 15 metres from the Brisbane line, it's switched left, but the Broncos snuff out the threat with a mammoth catch from a high bomb by Corey Oates.

Kudos to Wigan, here. They've started the second half in spirited fashion - a solid defensive set and a repeat attacking set get them to the Broncos' try line.

Replacement hooker Sam Powell chases his own dab through and earns a goal-line drop-out.

Hang on, what's this?! Tony Clubb about to come back on for Wigan?!

Milford took off then, gosh he's an exciting player. He just went 'Zoom'. He was gone but came up with the forward pass.

Almost a run to the line for Brisbane right at the start of the second half, but play is brought back for a forward pass by Anthony Milford.
