That will be demoralising for Hull as they were defending resolutely up until that point and looked threatening on the counter.

    Matty Russell, Kurt Gidley goal

    Warrington score first!

Chris Sandow intercepts Frank Pritchard's pass and races 80 metres to the Hull try line. Jamie Shaul's effort to chase him down and bring him to the deck - wow.

But Warrington aren't done yet. Matty Russell is in support and dives over for the Wire.

Whichever team wins this match, they're really going to have earned those medals, that's for sure.

I can't remember a more intense start to a Challenge Cup final. Will either side crack?

    Warrington go close. Very close.

The Wolves work the ball out to the left touchline and centre Ryan Atkins tries to offload to his winger Matty Russell.

But kudos once more to the Hull defence, who force Atkins to put too much on it and the ball flies out of play.

I wish I could tell you more about barnstorming runs or exciting action near the try line, but defences are very much on top in this game. They're not giving an inch.

Just because there haven't been any points, that doesn't mean this isn't hugely watchable.

Twenty minutes gone and there's nothing in this. We thought it was going to be tight, but nothing quite like this.

  8. Far from a sell-outpublished at 19 mins

One slight concern amidst this pulsating start is the size of the crowd here today.

There were 80,000 here to watch Leeds pummel Hull KR a year ago. But there can't be anything like that many on show today.

There are a lot of spaces in the upper tier. It's clearly a long way from a Wembley sell-out.

We've got a real final here.

Points in this final are going to be really hard to come by, despite the conditions.

    Hull 0-0 Warrington

Well, again Warrington don't make the most of the opportunity.

Hull defend strongly and Chris Sandow tries a little grubber kick, which is easily swallowed up.

    Hull 0-0 Warrington

Chris Sandow's excellent 40-20 kick gives Warrington a repeat set and an opportunity for the first points of the final.

Awesome from the little Aussie half-back.

    Hull 0-0 Warrington

The best passage of play so far.

Daryl Clark's elusive running gets Warrington within 20 metres of the Hull line, but a high kick on the last tackle is well claimed by Steve Michaels, who darts off himself past a flurry of primrose and blue shirts.

You can tell how warm it is - it's already melting the letters off Steve Michaels' shirt.

    Hull 0-0 Warrington

Warrington almost don't find touch with a penalty, but Steve Michaels steps on the sideline as he catches the ball and the Wolves can build some pressure.

Not for long, though. Joe Westerman, a former Hull player, knocks on in the centre of the pitch.

No quarter being given or taken by the two forward packs. Some solid hits going in during the first 10 minutes, on what is a muggy day at Wembley. Maybe that will play a part in the closing stages?

Marc Sneyd kicks Hull deep into Warrington territory again late in the tackle count.

It'll be like a game of chess between these two for the first 15 minutes, both sets of players trying to force the error.

    Hull 0-0 Warrington

The two main playmakers in today's game - Hull's Marc Sneyd and Warrington's Chris Sandow - have already had the chance to put boot to ball.

Sandow sent Hull right back to their own line, but they make some decent ground and Sneyd kicks to the corner.

A tidy start from both teams.

Everyone has said in the build-up that it's difficult to separate these two, but I think it will come down to one thing - win the ruck and you'll win the cup.

The pre-match formalities have been completed, and all that's left is to play a game of rugby league to decide which club will win the 2016 Challenge Cup.

    Let's dance.

Fireworks as the two teams come out.

Hope this Challenge Cup final meeting of Super League's top two (a real rarity, that!) catches fire too and sparks into a game to remember.
