Hull KR host Salford Red Devils in the Million Pound Game, hoping to retain their place in rugby league's top division.

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane told Sky Sports:

"They're a lot bigger than us, they're a huge team and they're very well coached.

"For our players to stand up, in a bad situation with injuries, to stand up like that was a tremendous effort by us.

"Tony Smith's done a fantastic job at Warrington this year and they're worthy opponents to be there."

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford told Sky Sports:

"It was a really good effort in the second-half, I don't mind going down like that.

"We haven't been that hot in the Super 8s, we've defended well but with the ball we haven't been where we needed to be."

Wigan hooker Sam Powell told Sky Sports:

"Hull came out and we did speak about it, there was going to be a point in the game where they were going to be on top.

"We've faced some adversity this year with injuries but we're not going to use it as an excuse.

"In could have been any four teams this year, we'll go rest up, look at Warrington, but it's going to be a great game.

There's barely any time left after that try before Wigan boot the ball into touch to end the game.

It was a magnificent match in the end after the hosts controlled the first period, but the Black and Whites couldn't maintain their momentum having taken a narrow lead late on.

Warrington await Warriors in eight days time at Old Trafford.

Wigan play it safe in possession, but Matty Smith produces a magical kick to force Jamie Shaul back behind his line, where he's wrapped up to bring up another goal-line drop-out.

Warriors will be in the Grand Final if they can get another try on the board now.

Marc Sneyd launches a ball high, high into air from left to right and causes more problems for the Wigan defence.

Lewis Tierney takes it for Wigan, but they're penalised for Olivert Gildart's block on Steve Michaels.

Another chance for Hull, which ends in John Bateman getting tackled behind the posts for a goal-line drop-out.

The game is wide open, either side could win it from here.

Hull pin Wigan back deep, but Warriors drive the length of the field and force a goal-line drop-out.

There's not long left for the hosts now though.

This is an absolutely sensational contest.

Wigan were cruising before the break, but now they have less than 15 minutes to find a score to get back in front.

Brilliant tackling from Hull sees them hold Wigan back from the line, and then a thumping hit from Jordan Thompson jars the ball loose.

The tension is absolutely unbearable, I can only imagine what it must be like as a fan of either of these two sides.

Minutes pass before video referee Ben Thaler makes his decision....

Hull have the ball for what seems like an age before Wigan get the first tackle in, after they'd failed to get under Marc Sneyd's high kick.  

The Black and Whites think they've got the ball down - Robert Hicks disagrees and Wigan run the ball the length of the field to touch down.

The video referee is called to see if Hull grounded the ball first.

Dan Sarginson falls to earth with a hefty crash after being flipped in the air when he makes contact with Danny Washbrook.

There was no malice in it from Washbrook, but it's a painful landing for Sarginson even so.

Meanwhille, Liam Watts has gone off the field for Hull with an arm injury.

Matty Smith kicks through the posts for the second time of the night to give Wigan their first points of the half.

Warriors might have hoped that would take the sting out of proceedings just a little, but Frank-Paul Nu'uausala knocks on to give possession back to Hull on half-way.

Kirk Yeaman spills the ball to give Wigan a much-needed chance to add a few more points.

Matty Smith tries the grubber kick through to himself and is tackled off the ball by Mark Minichiello.
