At the minute Dan Sarginson is involved in everything. If Hull want to do anything they need to settle down, get to a kick and get in Wigan's half.

  2. try

TRY: Wigan 8-0 Hull FCpublished at 14 mins

    Lewis Tierney

George Williams' kicking has been outstanding in the early stages, this time forcing Jamie Shaul to gather the ball behind his own goal-line.

The Warriors defence does the rest, forcing the goal-line drop out.

Once again they get the ball out the left flank, and for the second time tonight Lewis Tierney slides over in the corner.

Matty Smith makes better contact with his conversion attempt this time, but sends it wide of the right-hand upright.

    Wigan 4-0 Hull FC

Now then, how do Hull respond from here?

They get the ball in good position after Frank-Paul Nuuausala, a live-texter's nightmare, knocks on in the tackle.

Wigan's defence has been as strong as their attack so far though and the Black and Whites' attack fizzles out.

  4. try

TRY: Wigan 4-0 Hull FCpublished at 9 mins

    Lewis Tierney

Wigan's pressure has been constant and now they have their reward.

They work the ball out quickly to the left, where Lewis Tierney dives over under a lot of pressure from several Hull defenders.

Matty Smith gets his conversion attempt horribly wrong though, scuffing the ball along the ground and nowhere near the posts.

Liam Watts is the latest player to be called for a knock-on to give Wigan good territory once again.

Hull hold the line well, but they'll have a goal-line dropout now as Warriors apply the early pressure.

    Quote Message

This time the Hull FC fans are miffed because they think it's been stolen. In the warm-up there was a lot of ball down and it's a bit sloppy at the start.

    Wigan 0-0 Hull FC

Hull concede another penalty five yards from their own line, but Wigan lose the ball on the first tackle.

An important early defensive stand from the visitors there.

    Wigan 0-0 Hull FC

The first mistake of the game, and it's Hull FC's Frank Pritchard who is called for a knock-on.

It's hard to see the knock-on on replay, but Wigan get the ball near half-way nonetheless.

Nothing comes of Wigan's first set, so they kick deep into their opponents' territory.

There's seemingly no end of attacking threats in the Hull FC line-up, with four players scoring 10 or more tries in the Super League regular season.

Fetuli Talanoa, Mahe Fonua, Jamie Shaul and Steve Michaels all got into double-figures for the Black and Whites.

None of them have been able to match Wigan winger Josh Charnley's efforts though - he has 23 tries in 30 games in all competitions.

It's 10 years since a final four in Super League did not involve Wigan Warriors.

The Warriors went on to win the title in 2010 and 2013, the latter against Warrington.

Success tonight would set up another meeting with the Primrose and Blue under the Old Trafford lights.

We're just a few minutes away from kick-off now at the DW Stadium.

"Danny Houghton's another who's a victim of his own success. For a decade he's made 60 tackles a game and played every game. The difference now is the big pack has helped him develop a passing game and a running game and he's smart."

  13. Radford wants 'knock-out' Hull to deliverpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford told BBC Radio Humberside:

"It's knock-out footy, fortunately for us the knock-out footy we've been involved in this year we've put in our best performances.

"Wigan have a lot of experience, they're involved a lot at this time of year so we understand how tough it's going to be.

"There's been a try in it in all the games we've played against them this season, some have gone our way and some haven't.

"There are ways of getting away from their defensive threat, but we need to execute. Hopefully we've got a squad fit, willing and able to achieve because the carrot dangling doesn't come bigger."

  14. Patched-up Warriors eye 'best achievement'published at 19:50 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio 5 live:

"Wigan fans will turn up and make it a great atmosphere, it's going to be a great advantage for us.

"Hull had the advantage of having a 'home' game in the Challenge Cup semi-final at Doncaster, so it's our turn now and we've got to take advantage of that.

"We're a little bit busted at the moment, we'll dust ourselves down, we're the same team that played the week before and the week before that, if we get an injury we're in trouble.

"We've got problems but it will make the victory sweeter, the best achievement if we get that on Friday."

  17. You have to go back a long way...published at 19:42 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Wigan Warriors v Hull FC (20:00 BST)

...for the last time Hull FC won the Championship. 1983 to be precise, when only four of the current squad were actually born. Mind you, that was a 'first past the post' system.

That team was a true vintage, the skills of David Topliss, the Kiwi flair and steel of Dane O'Hara, Gary Kemble and James Leuluai complemented battle-hardened forwards such as Steve 'Knocker' Norton, Lee Crooks, Charlie Stone and Trevor Skerrett.

Does the class of 2016 have the mettle to follow suit? August's Challenge Cup success went some way to proving their credentials, but tonight's match will provide another stern test.

Wigan may have home advantage and better form coming into tonight's game, but they will be without a pair of influential players.

Captain Sean O'Laughlin and full-back Sam Tomkins will miss the play-offs through injury, with their status for England's Four Nations campaign starting in late October also in doubt.

Warrington Wolves took a step closer to a first title in 61 years, booking their place at Old Trafford with victory against bogey-team St Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Saints had won on their past seven visits but tries from Kurt Gidley, Stefan Ratchford and Tom Lineham were enough for the Wire to reach their third Grand Final in five years.
