Warrington end Super League's long wait for a World Club Series win, racing to an early 20-0 lead and holding on for a nine-point margin of victory.

Tomorrow, it's the big one: Wigan Warriors v Cronulla Sharks for the ultimate bragging rights in club rugby league.

A sensational night, and about time as well.

Well done Warrington. They've taken it to the NRL and they've beaten them handsomely.

That's a comfortable win. They controlled it for long periods, they'll take a lot out of this game and rightly so.

Brisbane Broncos forward Sam Thaiday tells Sky Sports: "We expected a tough game but the Warrington guys were very physical, they came with a real purpose and ours wasn't good enough.

"We let ourselves down with silly attacking errors and poor defensive errors. They played really well and we've got a few things we need to fix.

"We'll go back to Australia a lot better for having this run out over here."

It's hard to believe watching that Warrington performance tonight that they would have slumped to defeat at Catalans in their Super League opener.

Kevin Brown was hugely influential on his Warrington debut, with his kicking close to perfect throughout.

It all sets us up for a cracking game of rugby league coming up for you tomorrow...

Warrington Wolves head coach Tony Smith tells Sky Sports: "I just thought it was good for the game and this part of the world to get some credibility.

"There's some great rugby league played over here, and thankfully we showed that tonight."

Warrington half-back Kevin Brown tells Sky Sports: "I love playing here. It was tough to leave Widnes but this is why I came. It's an unreal feeling.

"When I was coming through as a lad, I watched Wigan beat Brisbane in 1994. Hopefully that will inspire some young kids watching that."

They've done it!

Warrington end a five-year wait for a Super League win over an NRL side, deserved winners against Brisbane.

Now, can Wigan make it two out of two tomorrow?

Ben Hunt's kick is perfectly weighted and it looks like it will be gathered in by a Brisbane player to go over. 

No such luck for the Australians, as Kurt Gidley gets across to put pressure on, and the ball is knocked on and out of play.

Warrington just need to play sensibly and run the clock down - Brisbane can't come back without the hosts' help now.

Wolves make just enough ground to allow Kevin Brown to kick for the corner, and the former Widnes man does not disappoint.

Broncos have probably got only two possessions left now. They have to make both of them count.

Another Warrington error allows Brisbane possession of the ball deep inside their own half.

This time, the Super League side survive, as a Broncos pass is wayward and out into touch.

Brisbane are finishing strong; they just don't have time for any more mistakes like that.

I can't believe what I'm seeing. Warrington were in control, but a couple of bad errors and now Brisbane have got a sniff here.

Famous last words, but I think Warrington have got this in the bag.

Brisbane hold strong in defence 10 metres out from their line, but it looks a tired effort now from the visitors.

Warrington are less than 10 minutes away from a first win for an English side over NRL opposition since 2012. Stunning performance from Tony Smith's men. 

Josh McGuire has not had a great game for Brisbane it has to be said, and he concedes another penalty inside his own half.

Declan Patton takes his time over the kick, but slips it clean through the middle of the uprights.

It's looking good for the hosts right now...

Injured Warrington captain Chris Hill on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "It's definitely not in the bag. We've got to keep controlled and play our sets out, like we did in the first half."

Warrington waste no time adding points after that minor brawl, with Declan Patton slotting over a drop-goal.

That could prove crucial, as the lead is now more than two converted tries.

Another coming together between the two sides, but the referee again decides just to have a chat with the captains.

A card can't be far away, as there were a couple of punches thrown in the latest melee, though I don't think any landed.

Warrington might not mind if this becomes a bit scrappy in the final 16 minutes.

Matty Russell has to pass this ball.

The winger has Andre Savelio alongside him in a two-on-one with a Brisbane defender on the final tackle, but he opts to take it on himself and can't beat his man.

The aftermath is ugly, with the two teams coming together and exchanging a few shoves.
