Samoa 0-14 England
England firmly in control. Did someone say this could be a banana skin? Hmmm...
Try Ratchford, con Gale
Far too easy. Stefan Ratchford joins the attack from full-back, collects a flat pass and looks up to see a gaping hole in the Samoan line. He darts through and rounds his opposite full-back Peter Mata'utia like he isn't there.
That leaves Luke Gale with the simplest of tasks with the conversion, knocking over from in front of the posts. My nan could have booted that over.
Stefan Ratchford
Bingo!
Samoa 0-8 England
Samoa play their get out of jail card. Elliott Whitehead is held up on the line and the ball dribbles loose.
Only a few more minutes for Samoa to hold out until the break.
Samoa 0-8 England
Time for England to get that second try? You betcha. England win a penalty inside the Samoan half and they're running it...
Samoa 0-8 England
England have looked decent with both ball in hand and without it. Samoa have barely made a dent on the English defence, while they have completed 11 of their 12 sets inside the opening half hour.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Do the supporters need the players to start playing or do they need to pipe up?
Samoa 0-8 England
The Campbelltown Stadium was a cauldron of Samoan-made noise when the teams came out of the tunnel. Not any more. And that's credit to England who have stifled the Samoan side and quietened their fans.
Luke Gale
Yup, no problem. Luke Gale calmly converts from a central position. Now where's that second try? Ten minutes until the hooter to find one...
Samoa 0-6 England
Time to throw Tom Burgess into the mixer. The replacement prop is straight into the thick of the action, winning a penalty when a Samoan foot stops the play the ball.
Luke Gale points to the sticks. This should be bread and butter for the Cas man...
Samoa 0-6 England
More handling errors are creeping into the Samoan game. England are rubbing their hands. A knock-on inside the Samoan half gives England another set...
Samoa 0-6 England
Oh dear. Samoa build up some field position in the English 22, then it is all undone when Josh McGuire spills the ball in the tackle. Good work down the pan.
Samoa 0-6 England
England back on the attack. Luke Gale decides go high, booting a bomb into the Campbelltown night sky. Samoa winger Ken Maumalo waits patiently for what seems an age until the ball crashes back down to Earth. Maumalo is not put under a lot of pressure by the English players, but still only just manages to hang on to it.
Samoa 0-6 England
Perhaps I went too big too early by saying England were going to add another try sooner rather than later. We've all done it.
Samoa are looking much more composed with ball in hand, Stefan Ratchford again called into action to deal with a kick towards the right corner.

It's turned into a really controlled match. England are not making as much ground through the middle as they were doing earlier.
Samoa 0-6 England
Much better from Samoa. They put together a couple of solid back-to-back sets, England full-back Stefan Ratchford forced to carefully watch a lively ball trundling up to the try-line.
Samoa 0-6 England
Jet-lag? Time-zone tiredness? England aren't showing any signs of any of that. Mind over matter.
Josh Hodgson is held up on the line by some desperate Samoan defending. Looks a matter of what and not if England score again...
Samoa 0-6 England
England look dangerous with every attack. Josh Hodgson dinks a kick into the Samoan in-goal area, with Kallum Watkins galloping after it. A couple of Samoan defenders scramble the ball out behind the dead ball line.
Samoa 0-6 England
Samoa decide to see what Jermain McGillvary is like under a high ball. The answer? Same as houses. The Huddersfield winger collects calmly under pressure and England go again...
