Well that just about does it for our live text coverage this evening. I'm off to splash my face with cold water and have a cup of tea.

That match showed why rugby league is one of the greatest sports in the world as far as I'm concerned. It truly had it all.

Castleford Tigers coach Daryl Powell told Sky Sports:

"What a crazy game. It was pretty tight at half-time, we got 10 points in front but we can't defend our try-line.

"I dunno what we were doing. I thought we did enough to win it until the end. Galey held his nerve with a bit of class.

"It's what rugby league is about, you don't know you've won until the end. It is great to hear the fans. It was tough to watch but I'm so pleased for the boys and everyone at the club that we've got to the Grand Final."

St Helens coach Justin Holbrook told Sky Sports:

"I feel horrible. It's hard to take at the moment. We showed the effort from the boys tonight.

"Away from home we kept coming and it was nearly enough to win it but it's devastating.

"It was a disappointing way to lose. I couldn't be prouder of the players but the result is hurting."

Castleford Tigers' Luke Gale told Sky Sports:

"It's hard to sum up. It was an awesome game, we thought we'd blown it but then it came down to the last second and it's my job to kick the drop goals.

"What a great spectacle that was. Hopefully the Grand Final can be like that.

"What an amazing story we've had this year. It's been outstanding. Being in hospital two weeks ago thinking my season was over to this.

"Things happen for a reason and I knew I had the self belief to do it tonight. I'm proud of the boys."

LUKE GALE KICKS THE WINNING DROP GOAL!

Castleford have nicked it right at the end and they're going to Old Trafford.

And at the other end, Matty Smith tries a drop goal attempt but he scuffs it and it goes into touch.

I can't handle the nerves, let alone the players!

Castleford's Luke Gale goes for what would have been an absolutely huge drop goal attempt but it sails wide.

Saints win the toss and Castleford will kick off this extra period of play.

What price a Luke Gale drop-goal for Castleford in these final eight minutes? A one-pointer would leave St Helens needing two tries to win.

What a turnaround!

Cas, who'd been under the cosh for so much of the second half, definitely have their tails up.

Paul McShane nails a 40-20 kick and they're definitely on top.

Great Odin's raven, that's a tremendous tackle.

Ben Barba finds a way through a wall of Castleford players and eventually the ball finds Tommy Makinson who's rushing on to score what should be a certain try in the corner, but Adam Milner pulls off a try-saving tackle for the hosts.
