    Castleford 8-4 St Helens

Moments after Zak Hardaker thought he'd bagged Castleford's second try of the evening, Greg Minikin and the home crowd think he's got himself on the scoresheet.

Referee James Child says no try on the field and video referee Phil Bentham agrees, judging that Minikin knocked on before grounding the ball.

It came with Mark Percival's failure to grasp a high kick, but Saints aren't made to pay for the error.

    Castleford 8-4 St Helens

Zak Hardaker thinks he's scored Castleford's second try in a dash to the ball and celebrates, but referee James Child quite rightly judges James Roby grounded the ball and it's not given.

Hardaker's furious but there's no argument from the replay.

Tommy Makinson gallops on a run through the midfield and attempts to offload the ball to Mark Percival but his Saints team-mate can't make it in time and it goes into touch.

Jeers ring around the Jungle but that could have been messy for the hosts if Makinson had found a way through their defence.

That's straight from the training ground. It was a marvellous pass from Ben Barba and a great finish from the youngster.

If it had been a boxing match, St Helens would have been on the ropes but they've just thrown a sucker punch.

    Regan Grace

What a debut season Regan Grace has had.

The young Welshman dives down at the corner to score his 11th try of the season for St Helens, thanks to some lovely work from Ben Barba to set him up in the build-up.

Mark Percival cannot add the extra two points, however.

    Castleford 8-0 St Helens

There's some healthy banter from the home fans who try to put St Helens full-back Ben Barba off catching a high kick, but the former Cronulla Sharks man takes it with ease.

Saints work the ball up to the other end of the field and Mark Percival weaves his way through an army of Cas players but he just cannot find a way through, before losing the ball to Adam Milner.

    Entertaining start, this.

Castleford win a penalty and opt to go for the two points. Luke Gale maintains his 100% kicking record this evening as it goes over.

Not a bad start for a man who had an operation to remove his appendix less than three weeks ago.

    Castleford 6-0 St Helens

Paul McShane kicks the ball to the sidelines and into touch and there's a St Helens scrum just a few yards from their own try-line.

The visitors claw back possession after a dominant opening few minutes from the hosts and they will be hoping to calm this game down a bit.

It was a set play, and my word it was a good play. The person at the core of it was Luke Gale. Two nominees for the Man of Steel combining - a tremendous try.

It couldn't have gone any better for the Tigers.

    Well now, what a start.

Just 48 seconds into this match and Cas have the first try of the night. Zak Hardaker spins round and grounds the ball with ease after Zab Taia's fumble gifted the League Leaders' Shield winners possession from the kick-off.

Luke Gale adds the extras and, all of a sudden, Castleford are 6-0 up.

Saturday: Leigh Centurions v Catalans Dragons

The 12th and final participant in next season's Super League will be decided on Saturday, when Leigh Centurions host Catalans Dragons in the Million Pound Game.

Leigh and Catalans finished fourth and fifth respectively in the Qualifiers, and meet in a one-off game to decide which team will be relegated to the Championship.

If it's anything like last season's fixture, the neutrals should be in for a treat. Salford stayed up, beating Hull KR with a drop-goal in golden-point extra-time.

Old Trafford will continue to host the Super League Grand Final until 2020 after a new three-year deal was agreed.

Manchester United's 75,643-capacity stadium has staged the event since the 1998 opener, and was the Premiership final venue between 1987 and 1997.

"Grand Final night at Old Trafford under lights is an iconic event that the sport should be proud of," Super League chief executive Nigel Wood said.

"We're approaching the 20th final at Old Trafford and each one has delivered great sporting drama and first-class entertainment."
