More pressure on the Saints, and Ben Barba has no option but to carry the ball out behind his own line to concede the goal-line drop-out.
Catalans restart from just inside the St Helens half.
Josh Drinkwater
There's just no end to the punishment for St Helens.
Josh Drinkwater was never going to miss from that position.
St Helens 0-27 Catalans Dragons
Another penalty against St Helens, three metres out, bang in front of the posts.
Catalans will attempt to add two more.
St Helens 0-27 Catalans Dragons
Not what St Helens needed.
They pick up 40 metres from their first possession and have to kick the ball harmlessly back to Catalans.
The good news for Saints is they're only around three minutes away from getting 13 men on the field, with Morgan Knowles still in the sin-bin.

I thought Catalans put great pressure on Saints right from the start of the game.
Catalans were prepared to be more physical and stop Saints before they could get into the game, they look like a well-coached side.
In defence and attack, Catalans Dragons have been absolutely outstanding.

Catalans Dragons half-back on BBC One
It was a good half - St Helens can score 27 points pretty quickly so we've got another 40 minutes to defend really well, complete our sets and that should get us home.

Matt McGlone: What a half from Catalans! Champagne rugby at times!
Nick Raynor: Who would have predicted 27-0 at half-time to Catalans?! Mad, absolutely mad.
Kyle: Saints fans must feel stupid after celebrating getting Catalans after the draw. Probably a game against an out-of-sorts Leeds side with more important things to worry about would have been the better draw.

Ben Barba
St Helens full-back on BBC One
We have to turn this around with energy, that's the only we we can come back.
It's going to be one hell of a fight but I still have faith in our side because we showed it all year that we can come back against good sides.

That has been a first half to forget for St Helens. Morgan Knowles is lucky not to walk off for an early bath and they've offered basically nothing going forward and have been on the back foot for 40 minutes.
As if Saints' task wasn't already hard as it is, they will begin the second half with 12 players and a whopping 27-point deficit to bridge.
I don't think it's unfair to say the dream of a domestic treble might be over.

Dean Lane: Saints getting schooled!
AJ: I'd hang my head in shame wearing that red vee today. Nobody has turned up and even tried to match Catalans.
Emma Dickenson: What a belting first half this has been!!

You will never watch a side play a better 40 minutes of rugby league.
Catalans have dominated in defence, and they have been a joy to watch with the ball in hand.
St Helens - the best team in Super League this season - have had no answers.

St Helens are a champion side but this is their biggest test by far.
We know they can score tries whenever they want to but they have got to turn this around because the Dragons have got them in a real stranglehold.
Dragons are totally dominating and they have absolutely destroyed St Helens in this first half.
Benjamin Garcia, Josh Drinkwater goal
Catalans are simply unstoppable.
St Helens were struggling to cope with 13 men on the field, but against 12 men, the Dragons cannot stop scoring.
Benjamin Garcia is in acres of space as he takes the ball on and dives over for his second try of the afternoon.
Josh Drinkwater converts again.
Tony Gigot, Josh Drinkwater goal
Absolutely stunning rugby league.
Catalans sense blood and go for it on the last tackle from some way out, scything through the Saints defence and setting up Tony Gigot to burst over the line.
Josh Drinkwater kicks the conversion to extend the lead beyond 20 points.

Josh Drinkwater kicks Catalans two points further ahead.
Saints have to hold on until half-time.

Mark F: That is an awful challenge. Feet are off the ground. Swinging arm into the neck. Don’t think he’s a dirty player but that’s a bad tackle.
Gavin Wilson: Yellow card is the correct call. It was unquestionably high but did start across the chest.
Marc Liptrot: Lucky there I think, that is probably a red.
