St Helens have done it! They've won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 13 years.

Meanwhile, Castleford's wait goes on. Their last triumph came in 1986 but they ran a very strong Saints side close today.

What a match and what an advert for rugby league.

Kyle Amor looks overcome with emotion after that try. That's what it means.

St Helens have bossed this second half and are on the way to victory.

Meanwhile, Castleford's Niall Evalds is awarded the Lance Todd Trophy. Deserved, I think.

They've just turned the screw in the second half. They've absolutely dominated since the break. Deserved winners.

That was pure perseverence from Kyle Amor. It was a great carry.

    Kyle Amor, goal Lachlan Coote

St Helens are rewarded for their late pressure as Kyle Amor batters his way through four or five Castleford players to go over the line.

It's given on field but sent upstairs again, however, it would appear there are no angles of him grounding that ball but it's subsequently awarded.

    Lachlan Coote adds the two.

    Castleford 12-20 St Helens

We've gone to video referee Chris Kendall after a scramble in the Castleford goal area leaves it inconclusive as to whether St Helens have somehow scored a try.

It's not given and a goal line drop out is given, further slowing the game down and keeping Saints in control.

    Not long left now.

Carrie: Last 10 mins, Cas look shattered but my word they have left their souls on the pitch today. What a great match, still all to play for

Wils: This is 1 of the best challenge cup finals in a long time

And Lachlan Coote has missed, but he's run the clock in the mean time.

It's looking unlikely that Castleford can fight back here, but there's still a bit of time.

Make no mistake, if you're just joining us now, Castleford might be behind but they have given St Helens one heck of a game today.

Leave aside rugby league at its best, this has been sport at its best.

Lachlan Coote stands over the ball as Saints attempt a penalty to surely give them an unassailable lead.

    Castleford 12-20 St Helens

Lachlan Coote sends a speculative kick in towards goal and forces Castleford into knocking it dead.

Great game management to force Cas to go short and they eventually concede a penalty straight from the restart.

    Castleford 12-20 St Helens

From the restart, St Helens win another penalty and Castleford look absolutely deflated.

Meanwhile, Tommy Makinson is down with cramp. Just shows how hard they've fought today.

It's going to be a tough ask now for Castleford. Their energy levels have been sapped.

They need to conjour up something out of the box.

    Lachlan Coote

St Helens are closer to victory as Lachlan Coote just about puts the ball between the sticks.

Have Castleford got anything left in the tank to mount a comeback?

My word, St Helens win a penalty right in front of the sticks and this might be it, folks.

It comes as Grant Millington spills the ball and this might be it for Castleford.

Wow. Castleford win the ball back and get a set of six within 20 metres of the line but, no sooner does their attack start, do St Helens intercept.

They race into the Cas half and eventually win another set of six but before they can take advantage, they play it forward.

Cas have got out of jail there. They are just about hanging on right now.

  19. PENALTY: Castleford 12-18 St Helenspublished at 66 mins

    Lachlan Coote

Sensational penalty goal from Lachlan Coote to send St Helens six points ahead of Castleford.

A lot of pressure on his shoulders and he kicks it with ease.
