Castleford's Gareth O'Brien is receiving treatment after a big hit, one of many we've seen in this match.

It comes after he tried to stop Mark Percival in his tracks but in the process he's come off worse.

St Helens could do with another try here to give themselves some breathing space.

Castleford are throwing everything at them right now. Saints begin another set on their 10. They need to make this count.

Blimey, as St Helens try to kick away to ease the pressure, they kick it out on the full and Castleford win back possession in the Saints half.

Yet another advantage but can they make this one count?

This match is on the knife edge.

Mark Percival screams to the crowd as St Helens move Castleford in to touch as they race towards the line on the fourth tackle.

Credit where it's due, that is expert defence from Saints to thwart Castleford who should have leveraged their advantage there.

An opportunity for Castleford here as James Roby knocks on deep inside St Helens' half.

The Tigers win a set of six in a dangerous position but can they make it count?

I should point out by the way, that Joe Batchelor is back on the field for St Helens after passing his head injury assessment.

Impressive considering he looked pretty out of it early in this second half.

    Castleford 12-16 St Helens

Joel Thompson is the latest St Helens player to come off worse from a Castleford tackle and he receives treatment after Jesse Sene-Lefao went in on him.

He's cleared to play on just before Lachlan Coote puts a kick towards goal which Niall Evalds picks up but he's brought down before he can run on the counter again.

Kyle: Brilliant from Jack Welsby. Fantastic player he is now and it's frightening how good he can become. He turned an awful pass into a try scoring position. Fantastic play from him.

St Helens are in the ascendancy now but where have we heard that before, eh?

I'm writing neither of these teams off in this match. More of the pitch is shaded now but the temperature is still hot hot hot.

It was a little bit ad hoc from Saints and a disappointing try for Castleford to concede as they gave away the penalty which gave Saints field position.

    Tommy Makinson

    What a magnificent try.

St Helens get back ahead and it all comes from some sensational work from their young talisman Jack Welsby.

Once again he comes to life in a big game after his Grand Final heroics last season and he works the ball laterally before it's finally offloaded to Tommy Makinson who runs in at the corner.

Lachlan Coote misses the extras, however. Game on!

If St Helens get their act together and show some patience towards the end of their sets, I think they can take more of a stranglehold on this game.

Great stuff from Agnatius Paasi to offload to St Helens captain and try-scorer James Roby when he's in the midst of being tackled.

However, Paul McShane intercepts soon after as Castleford fight back.

Great match, this. Really hard to pin down who's going to win this.

Stu: Clear knock on. Clearly out of play. But a try?

LordGreyStoke: Don't know why it took so long, the try was obviously AOK.

Fair to say, your opinion is split.

For what it's worth, I don't understand the bluster about that try at all and I certainly don't understand what possessed Chris Kendall to look at it so much.

For me it's simple. Regan Grace did nothing wrong and it was a clean try.

Just get on with it. That review took nearly four minutes.
