    So then, another stellar Super League season - in unenviable circumstances - begins to draw to a close.

    We have our two Grand Finallists as Catalans Dragons take on St Helens next week at Old Trafford.

    Is the three-peat on for St Helens or are Catalans going to win their first ever top flight title?

  2. 'We've got more to give next week'

    St Helens coach Kristian Woolf told Sky Sports:

    "I'm extremely proud. I thought we were great tonight. You can see from the start the intensity about us.

    "We weren't perfect, we've got some improvement for next week but the effort was there for sure.

    "The good thing is, we've got a little bit more to give next week.

    "[On Jack Welsby] He's not a bloke you want to see going down. I know he didn't quite get everything right tonight but he's going to be alright. He's got a bit of stinger tonight and played with some pain but he'll be alright for next week.

  3. 'We didn't delivery the standard we needed to'

    Leeds Rhinos boss Richard Agar told Sky Sports:

    "The delivery from ourselves wasn't good enough but we have to pay tribute to the opposition.

    "The defensive pressure they set really puts you under the pump. We didn't deliver to anywhere near the standard we needed to.

    "It's a disappointing night and it'll hurt but I thought St Helens were really impressive tonight."

    Well done St Helens. They have had another brilliant regular season. At times they probably haven't been at their best but they have still been pretty consistent.

    They have won the Challenge Cup final and they have earned the right to try to win another trophy next week in the Grand Final.

    St Helens full-back Lachlan Coote told Sky Sports:

    "It feels very good. I was a bit nervous coming out here tonight. Hopefully we can continue this into next week.

    "I'ts my last home game for Saints and it's been an awesome start but hopefully we can win one more.

    "I've got the right blokes around me to pump me up. It means everything to this group."

  7. ST HELENS REACH THE SUPER LEAGUE GRAND FINAL

    FT: St Helens 36-8 Leeds

    They've done it! St Helens set up a third Super League Grand Final in a row and will face Catalans Dragons in next week's showpiece at Old Trafford.

    Kristian Woolf's side never looked in doubt tonight, with Leeds rarely threatening to mount a comeback after Regan Grace got the hosts going.

    A rematch of that sensational Magic Weekend fixture awaits a week tomorrow.

    The answer is - nothing that would cause the try to be disallowed.

    The St Helens supporters are in fine voice this evening. They know they're on course for a 13th Super League Grand Final appearance and third in a row.

    Just seconds after Morgan Knowles is sent to the bin, Luke Briscoe makes Leeds' player advantage count as he races in at the corner.

    Referee Chris Kendall sends it upstairs but Liam Moore sees no reason not to give it and Leeds are back on track against St Helens.

    Rhyse Martin misses the conversion.

    Morgan Knowles is sent to the bin for St Helens - that's the fourth sin binning of the game so far.

    It comes after a high shot on Kruise Leeming.

    Mark Percival later puts in a massive tackle in to try and peg them back.

    Luke Briscoe, in the process of trying to play the ball, knocks on and a difficult night for the Leeds Rhinos continues.

    Mark Percival puts a kick in towards the corner right on the turnover but he can't work onto it in time.

    The game has quietened down somewhat in the past few minutes, but St Helens are holding strong against Leeds.

    Jack Welsby attempts a kick and chase from about 20 metres out and he almost succeeds.

    But the young St Helens half-back can't quite get onto it before it goes dead and somehow after the restart, he's in a lot of pain and points to his shoulder.

    Welsby is receiving treatment and goes to the sidelines. A blow.

    Watching that again, I just don't understand what Rob Lui was thinking. His side are chasing the game, they've lost James Donaldson to the bin, why go in with such a daft challenge on Regan Grace?

    St Helens win a penalty in the aftermath and they get to within five metres of the line.
