Alex Walmsley's just battered his way through a succession of Leeds players, gaining a good 20 metres before he's downed.

In the process he gets a bump to the head, which TV replays show was from the onrushing knee of Brad Dwyer.

Naughty that, but he's not punished and play continues.

    St Helens 4-0 Leeds

Well what have Leeds got in response to that St Helens try? At the minute not a great deal.

Kruise Leeming has just thrown a pass on the break into touch, with a Leeds attack ending no sooner does it begin.

Good execution of skill and decisions by St Helens. Robert Lui just wasn't quite quick enough to stop the play and Saints took advantage after stripping the Leeds defence of numbers.

Leeds need to manage the first 20-25 minutes before St Helens front load their energy in defence and attack.

Leeds go for the 40-20 from deep but Lachlan Coote won't be caught out this time as he successfully clutches the ball.

St Helens work it out wide from their set of six and get the ball to Regan Grace who goes over for a trademark try at the corner.

Lachlan Coote misses the extras, however, but Saints are up and running.

    St Helens 0-0 Leeds

Leeds put a kick in towards goal but they can't get on the end of it before a slipping Jack Welsby misses the chance to knock it dead.

We get going once more and St Helens race upfield thanks to James Roby gaining ground.

Lewis Dodd kicks to goal this time but it deflects off the post and Leeds sheepishly regain possession.

    St Helens 0-0 Leeds

Lachlan Coote, under no pressure at all, fumbles a high kick and knocks on in the early stages of this game.

The travelling Leeds support loved that. Can they capitalise now they have a set of six 30 metres out?

I fancy Saints this evening. They have got the experience of winning these type of games and they know the formula that's needed.

I think they've also got the hunger in the group to achieve again.

  13. 'There's been one or two selection dilemmas'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 1 October 2021

St Helens v Leeds (19:45 BST)

Leeds are without some key personnel for the game, including Luke Gale - who kicked a golden point drop-goal for Castleford to quash St Helens' title hopes at this stage in 2017.

That said, Agar was able to name the same 21-strong group that travelled to Wigan in the last round.

"We've had one or two selection dilemmas, but we'll see," Agar told BBC Radio Leeds.

"We have considered the odd little tweak, which is a good position to be in at this stage of the year - we're really confident in pretty much every guy we've got in that 21.

"We'll look at the opposition and see what's best for us. We have considered it [making changes] because we're playing opposition that has different threats and are different in the way that we've got to break them down."

  14. 'It won't make much difference'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 1 October 2021

St Helens v Leeds (19:45 BST)

St Helens' thrashing of Leeds Rhinos in the penultimate round of the Super League season has no bearing on their play-off semi-final, according to boss Kristian Woolf.

Saints were dominant in the 40-6 win, with try-scoring England prop Alex Walmsley outstanding.

"It's not going to make much difference to the game coming up," Woolf said.

"They're going to be very determined. Outside of a Challenge Cup final it's the biggest game of the year [the Grand Final], so both teams are going to be determined.

"We're certainly confident, we played our best footy in the last five or six weeks of the season."

    Recap: Catalans 28-10 Hull KR

    Catalans celebrateImage source, SWPix.com

Catalans Dragons wrote themselves into Super League history by beating Hull KR in the play-off semi-finals to book their first Grand Final appearance.

They built a first-half lead through Ben Garcia and Josh Drinkwater tries, before Shaun Kenny-Dowall got a late Rovers score before the hooter.

After the break, Catalans pulled away from the Robins with Arthur Mourgue, Fouad Yaha and Joe Chan tries.

Ryan Hall's late effort was merely consolation for the spirited visitors.

But who will they face at Old Trafford next week?
